Geology section missing
editSeems this article needs a section summarizing the geologic environment and development of the basin. In its current state it is about the fossil fuels of the basin and their exploitation with very little about the basin itself. Or maybe rename it to Fossil fuels of the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Also the basin structure doesn't stop at the international border yet there is not even a brief mention of the continuation into Montana and other states. Vsmith (talk) 03:23, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
editCyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

This article needs updating
editThe latest date in this article is 2016, and that was a forecast date. A lot has happened in the Canadian energy sector, with pipeline issues, etc. Could someone with expertise in the field have a go at making this article more up-to-date. Thanks! Western Canada Sedimentary Basin
edit@Vsmith: The "Canada" version seems to be more popular (is actually used in the first reference), actually, thus an "also" text could have been useful. I have no interest in the subject (came here as part of the WP:NPP), so will not insist beyond that comment. Викидим (talk) 13:14, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- Western Canada Sedimentary Basin is the official name of the basin; as cited by the governments of Alberta and Canada and by peer-reviewed publications. All of the references and external links on the page refer to the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. I propose to change the redirect to correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:56A:77D1:9B00:A43E:912B:E519:5BAF (talk) 00:26, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
