Change of article's name from Vizol Angami to Vizol Koso edit

Hi @FourthOfJuly1776:, Do you have a good, reliable source for this? Wherever I was able to check, his name was mentioned as Vizol Angami or just Vizol, including the Election Commission of India election results. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 04:00, 3 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Angami is the name of an ethnic group. He belonged to the Koso surname of the Angamis.
You can see some of his relatives (Koso) mentioned in the program here https://easternmirrornagaland.com/former-cm-vizols-biography-released/
his grandson https://www.linkedin.com/authwall?trk=gf&trkInfo=AQGLEvEt8-8SIAAAAXxEW1JA_QZObt6rbCXJz9QYpAJV4ymxRX0WZ9wo-EUAqL2gWv_VP7bwEn2JBzsY_99yplP-wQOcBkU2G-nRvTP3AvnHnzwD8tJ9z64FhvIJQAg-pt7IJX0=&originalReferer=https://www.google.com/&sessionRedirect=https%3A%2F%2Fin.linkedin.com%2Fin%2Fkevithuto-vizol-koso-54b871202 FourthOfJuly1776 (talk) 04:21, 3 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
This qualifies as WP:OR, i think. The linked.in article is not a good source for Wikipedia. In the easternmirror article it isn't mentioned that Vilasul Koso is the grandson of Vizol, and even if he is, that doesn't mean that the grandfather shares his surname. There are good sources which mention his name as Vizol Angami. e.g.[1] and [2]. Please find a source where he is talked about as Vizol Koso -MPGuy2824 (talk) 04:49, 3 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Angami is not an official name. It's just an ethnic group. There were just miscommunications that led the media to mentioned him as Vizol Angami. Since he belonged to a more remoter part of the world, there is difficulties in citing primary sources at the moment. FourthOfJuly1776 (talk) 05:41, 3 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

The Morung Express seems to be an organization based in Nagaland itself. This is from the Information & Public Relation Department of the Government of Nagaland. Since there are no good sources for the Koso name, I think you should undo your move. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 07:07, 3 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Vizol KosoVizol Angami – I'm unable been able to find any reliable source which mentions his name as Vizol Koso. On the other hand, Morung Express and the Information & Public Relation Department of the Government of Nagaland mention his name as Vizol Angami. This was the original name of the article and we should revert to that. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 03:40, 5 October 2021 (UTC) — Relisting. VR talk 23:07, 20 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Support I couldn't find anything on Vizol Koso. All the sources either refer to him as Vizol Angami ([3], [4], [5], [6], [7]) or simply Vizol ([8], [9]) mononymously. I couldn’t say if he is later known mononymously. I checked all the citations in the article, but couldn't find any reference to the name "Vizol Vitso-n Koso" even. — DaxServer (talk to me) 18:52, 11 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Since Vizol Angami redirects to Vizol Koso. I think move is not necessary given that he belongs to the Koso surname as mentioned by FourthOfJuly1776. -The Anonymous Earthling (talk) 12:23, 5 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Like I mentioned above, FourthOfJuly1776 hasn't given a good reference for his surname being Koso. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 03:04, 6 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Change of subject's name from Vizol Angami to Vizol Vitso-n Koso edit

@The Anonymous Earthling: Please see the sections "Change of article's name from Vizol Angami to Vizol Koso" and "Requested move 5 October 2021" on this talk page. I'll note that you too haven't added a reliable reference for the subject's name being Vizol Vitso-n Koso. I request you to either undo your name change or provide an acceptable reference. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 08:39, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@The Anonymous Earthling and @MPGuy2824 - I think it is high time to revert back to Vizol Angami in all references. I understand that this might be sentimental in many ways, but during his lifetime his name was referred as Vizol Angami in official documentation as well. He is a well known politician with a public record. This has to be maintained irrespective of how his following generations asserted their Indigenous identity in respectable ways. Let us know ascribe the present political assertions onto previous generations who did so in rather different ways. J4joeyrod (talk) 18:05, 1 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
