Added section for the Chicago campus

edit

I found the introduction for this article confusing. It combined information about the Chicago campus interchangeably with information about the University of Illinois College of Medicine, which has programs in four locations. To remedy this, I created a new section for the Chicago campus. More citations/references are needed throughout the entire article; once I can finish up some other projects, I'll spend more time on this one and hunt down more references, but I wanted to make this important clarification in the interim. Duplicate article

edit

Surely this a duplicate of College of Medicine at Urbana-Champaign. Jezhotwells (talk) 22:11, 22 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Just wanted to note that University of Illinois College of Medicine is not a duplicate of College of Medicine at Urbana-Champaign. The Urbana campus is part of the University of Illinois College of Medicine. The college offers a program at four geographic sites: Chicago, Peoria, Rockford, and Urbana 128.248.93.114 (talk) 17:26, 23 October 2009 (UTC)MSReply
Ah, my mistake - just going on the name similarity. Jezhotwells (talk) 19:27, 23 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've asked about this subject here also: Talk:College of Medicine at Urbana–Champaign#U of I hierarchy. --Closeapple (talk) 04:53, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Request for article update

edit

Recently UIC COM has restructured their curriculum, and as a result first-year students are now able to go to any of the campuses (not just Chicago and Urbana-Champaign).

The section on campuses should be updated to reflect this change, but I cannot do this since I am a student at UIC COM, which would be a conflict of interest WP:COI.

Some sources that may be helpful (note that the main UIC COM page describing campuses has not yet been updated yet):

[2]

Might not be usable as a source, but potentially helpful anyway: [3]

Thanks in advance to whoever helps with updating this! Myoglobin (talk) 02:16, 22 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

If it weren't for students and alumni editing school and college articles, very little would ever get done with them. There is no need for you to make an edit request. Be BOLD. If someone has a problem with the edit, they can revert and then you bring it to talk per BRD. John from Idegon (talk) 03:02, 22 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
I'll wait a week and then try boldness. Myoglobin (talk) 03:11, 22 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Under External Links, the Urbana campus website is a dead link. This page hasn't been modified in some time and so I am hesitant to update it.

Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine

edit

In historical records and CVs I'm seeing reference to the "University of Illinois Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine" in Chicago, IL. I'm surprised not to see that name mentioned here. Daask (talk) 00:38, 5 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
