editWho is Richard Bayes and why is he included in the Florida sub-entry? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.230.49.235 (talk) 22:28, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
Wisconsin does not have term-limits for Governor. Please make Wisconsin Dark Blue on the map. Thanks. Actually Jim Doyle will not seek re-election for a third term, so Wisconsin should be colored light blue instead. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.86.239.222 (talk) 18:48, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
Alright, this map has some serious problems.
1) West Virginia does not elect governors in mid-term years. (Whomever creates these maps gets WV wrong every time.)
2) Nobody knows what will be happening in Vermont and New Hampshire, the map is assuming that the two current governors run for and win re-election in 2008.
3) As the previous poster indicated, Wisconsin should be dark blue, while Alabama should be bright red.
ProfessorPlum27 02:22, 27 April 2007 (UTC)Professor Plum27
Actually, Alabama should be light red as Bob Riley is constitutionally term limited. Tfelts 02:19, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
New image!
editAnd it's an SVG, so anyone can correct it now. 68.39.174.238 19:43, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- I can't seem to, and I see a mistake. Heineman is eligible to run for reelection, and he probably will. --Muboshgu (talk) 04:13, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Arizona
editNeeds to be changed to red. Brewer can run for reelection as a Republican. Papercrab (talk) 22:22, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Depth of info
editI do not think we should elaborate on who is running. I think we should just put the info about the incumbent, and leave it at that. The reason is because there is no way everyone running can be mentioned, and there will be too much argument over whether or not someone should be mentioned. There is a link to every election, where we can elaborate. I am going to change it now, but if there is legitimate objections, you can change it back. - Rockyobody (talk) 21:39, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
- Declared challengers certainly should be mentioned here. Potential candidates could probably be confined to the more specific articles on each race. Qqqqqq (talk) 21:46, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
How do we know who to mention, and who not to? It is hard to tell how long to keep the articles, some have two sentences and some have 3 paragraphs. I think we need to consider making some of these shorter. (i.e. Jennifer Granholm (Michigan) and Rick Perry (Texas))
Nebraska
editHeineman is eligible to run for reelection. He succeeded Johanns and has only been elected once. Heineman is in fact running for reelection. Can someone fix that? I seem to be unable to edit the file. --Muboshgu (talk) 00:27, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
Utah
editI added the race for Utah's planned Special election that will take place. Could someone add Utah in the image box, I don't know how to do that. Bluedemocrat (talk) 04:33, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Shouldn't we wait until Jon Huntsman, Jr. actually resigns? I mean look at Bill Richardson and Judd Gregg. Nobody thought they werenn't going to resign to be the next U.S. Commerce Secretary, but goes to show you never really can tell... Cladeal832 (talk) 19:18, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Alaska
editSean Parnell isn't the Governor. It's only a prediction that he'll become Governor. Just ask New Mexico Lt. Gov. Diane Denish or Bonnie Newman if a plan to resign is the same as actually resigning. Let's just wait until July 26 when it actually happens was switch it then. It's accurate right now that Sarah Palin is a retiring Governor and then after July 26, it's accurate that Sean Parnell is incumbent seeking re-election Cladeal832 (talk) 19:23, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
- Sounds fine. Thank you for explaining it. BrianY (talk) 21:00, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Map
editThis map is wrong. Colorado should be Dem Retiring. I don't know how to fix it. BrianY (talk) 05:31, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
Vermont and Connecticut are both Democratic pickups, the map indicates they are holds. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Surgemg (talk • contribs) 04:29, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
Change the map, change it now
editIt should document Republican Holds, gains, Democratic Holds and gains. Not the way it's done now. The elections have passed. J390 (talk) 20:41, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
Florida on the map
editCrist was elected as a Republican in 2006, so that should show as a Republican hold not a Republican gain.--109.152.253.45 (talk) 13:04, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
- I've also replied on my talk page; Crist left the party so the party lost the Governorship. Swarm X 11:11, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
