His Death edit

At what point does the article acknowledge that the guy is dead / Incapacitated? 208.91.11.214 (talk) 14:14, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Here is a good reference for information regarding his current health status if I don't get to it: Is the President of Nigeria Brain Dead? at Foreign Policy. Supertouch (talk) 16:01, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

His age edit

According to The Nigerian Village Square and The Punch Yar'Adua was born in 1951, according to Gamji and the BBC in 1950. --Ankimai 20:27, 19 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

His website, on its biography page, says 1951, so we should consider that to be the authoritative date. Picaroon 21:58, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
According to his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Mr. Segun Adeniyi, he was born on August 16, 1951. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Teejayz (talkcontribs) 23:11, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

As the Daily Independent puts it:[1] he's a »full-blooded Fulani«. --Ankimai 21:43, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Good research. Badagnani 22:44, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Assumed office? edit

his 7 piont political agenda not listed. It says in the infobox "assumed office May 29, 2007". Why is this past tense? If anything it should be future tense. Can User:Unclezeb please explain his removal of sources in this edit? Badagnani 08:49, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ministers edit

This article will need something extra, for example, the names of his present ministers in his Cabinet in order to add interest in his government. It might take time, but I think it will add something meaningful to this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Borninbronx10 (talkcontribs) 16:42, 24 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Alhaji edit

The opening...

Umaru Musa Yar'Adua (16 August 1951 – 5 May 2010), also known as Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar'adua

...should be changed to...

Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar'Adua (16 August 1951 – 5 May 2010)

...if Alhaji means what I surmise it means. (Or else "Alhaji" should be deleted altogether; MOS:HONORIFIC is unclear on this.) jnestorius(talk) 18:21, 6 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think it should be deleted altogether and will do so now. As a self-imposed title (AlHaji is for those who have performed the pilgrimage) it is hardly suitable. --Mkativerata (talk) 20:21, 6 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
If a source says thats what he was known as with full name, then that's what should be there. Its not honouring him for the pilgrimage, its simply stating what he would be known as. Cassius Clay became Muhammed Ali, Youssef Youhana became Mohammed Youssef, in the same way other names can be listed. but only if per a source and not a wikipedian synthesis that it must be so because its happened, if not then keep the name out. NEUTRALITY DISPUTED edit

There are many lines praising Him too much about his tenure of governor "nobody has never been like him" etc etc....no references whatsoever. It is not my intention to say he was not a good governor, but those phrases don't look very "encyclopedic", they look like propaganda or tilt. Please review that.
