The title of The Toy Association's website is "The Toy Association, Inc." They also use "The Toy Association" in the footer on their website and it is how they most commonly refer to themselves in their newsroom.Gjmalara (talk) 12:56, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Toy AssociationThe Toy Association – 1. "The" is critical to distinguish The Toy Association from other toy associations around the world. Toy Association is too generic. The leading article is integral to disambiguation of The Toy Association's name.

2. Search results show "The Toy Association".

3. The Toy Association clearly and repeatedly refers to itself as "The Toy Association" in all legal documents and on their own website. Legal documents: a) The Toy Association Articles of Incorporation b) The Toy Association name change document 2 Gjmalara (talk) 20:43, 25 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Speedy close as per the recently closed WP:RM at this article in which leaving out "The" was the consensus. --IJBall (contribstalk) 00:20, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose – no clear case for "the" or reason to re-do the previous discussion. Dicklyon (talk) 04:36, 27 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

*Support The Toy Association. There are many other "Toy Associations": Japan Toy Association, Yee Fong Toy Association, Canadian Toy Association. Including "The" is essential to distinguish The Toy Association from others.

  • Speedy close per the last RM. As I said earlier, there is no clear evidence the common name includes the "The". In addition, "The Toy Association" is no less generic, so I see no reason the move should take place. ONR (talk) 01:53, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

*Support The Toy Association. According to Wikipedia's naming conventions, "if the definite or indefinite article would be capitalized in running text, then include it at the beginning of the Wikipedia article name." And later on the same page, "When a proper name is almost always used with "The", especially if it is included by unaffiliated sources, the article "The" should be used in the name of the corresponding Wikipedia article as well... Sometimes, the article 'The' is also used at the beginning of the names of companies." As in the case of this sentence, "the" is capitalized in The Toy Association's name in running text and it is the part of their proper name. The Toy Association fits all of the criteria for capitalizing "The" according to Wikipedia's rules.

  • Oppose and speedy close. We've already had an RM recently. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:20, 31 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment. Both support votes struck as they were added by the nominator, who obviously thinks we're stupid and can't read article histories. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:22, 31 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
