Another birthday update?

edit
I'm not sure this needs to be so visible anymore. Philippe Beaudette, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 06:44, 12 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

We have another case of where multiple birth dates are given and someone recently placed an in-line comment "Do not use IMDb as a source for this. Subject claims otherwise IMDb not reliable source."

Why? Who says? IMDb is usually right. How has 'subject' contacted Wikipedia? Does anyone know actual birth date?

--UnicornTapestry (talk) 05:48, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

As said multiple times in the history notes the subject has contacted Wikimedia through OTRS and through the office directly. Both User:Philippe (WMF) and myself have spoken to him over the phone and his birthday has been confirmed via official documents (February 18, 1967 in Salt Lake) . IMDb has major problems correcting data and has on multiple times said they got the data from US hence part of the circular issue. I've submitted a statement with them to try and fix it but given that it appears the subject has also submitted papers to them to correct issues (the originally had him being born near Chicago which is the info for a hockey player born in the 40s) I'm not sure if it will get fixed. IMDb's issues are fairly common to be honest and even if you DO get them to fix something even they say that it may take months. We have had major issues on this article of IPs changing it back regardless of statements not to do so, we can't allow that. James (T C) 23:22, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Left a response on my talk page. I suggest a permanent note on this, the talk page.

It is impossible for subject to be born in 1967 and it is obvious, beyond a shadow of a doubt that 1960 is the correct birthdate. Even in the Disney Legends reference for the 1967 birth year it says and i quote: "He arrived at the Walt Disney Studios at the tender age of 20, focused solely on a career in animation. As a highly skilled animator, he worked on nearly every Disney feature from 1980 to date". How could he have been 20 in 1980 and still be born 1967 and even if there is a typo, ask yourself would they allow a thirteen-year-old kid to work as an animator. This whole argument is bloody ridiculous and correcting it.79.124.57.97 (talk) 21:41, 31 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

That is also incorrect, it sounds like they are having issues correct the page because Disney hasn't found someone with access or something along those lines (old site). I have talked to him over the person (so has staff) and seen his passport. Not everything is perfect on the internet especially when they get information from places like US so it goes in a cyclical nature (for example IMDb told me for one guy that they didn't want to change their date because they got it from us). Do not continue this. James (T C) 22:23, 31 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

He wasn't 13-years-old in 1980. How could Disney's staff allow an underaged kid to be an animator and in an interview he states that he was 25, when Clarence Nash passed away and asked him to take over his role. All information, except all this nonsence about passports, phone, GSM and stuff like that, all reliable sources point to 1960. Including this, Just take one look at [1] and then see what you all think.79.124.57.97 (talk) 00:43, 1 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK, it seems pretty clear to me that Disney had a typo in their press kits. Disney agrees with Mr. Anselmo. The Disney legends info says 1967. The documents this BLP subject faxed us are very clear. The last step in complaining about a BLP is to engage with the Wikimedia Foundation - it's on WP:BLP. In this case, that has happened. We're intervening. This argument is getting extremely old. This is a real person, who has been more than patient, has never once said a harsh word, and has tried very hard to work within our system. I know he was born in 1960. I heard from my sister who works as a volunteer at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco. And today, as a matter of fact, Tony was at the museum. And my sister spoke to me about it by phone. I asked her to ask him that, but she already. She had me mentally calculate when he was born by saying this: "He was four years old when he saw 'Mary Poppins'." "Mary Poppins" was, of course, released in 1964. So 1964 - 4 = 1960! I think the Disney Legends page needs an update. MHarrington (talk) 00:36, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Logic fail. I first saw it when I was five. Using your logic, I was born in 1959. Except I wasn't. Philippe Beaudette, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 03:53, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well, I thought 1960 myself because of the Deseret News article. Besides I didn't see a birthdate on the Disney Legends website, anyway. --Smartie2thaMaxXx (talk) 02:24, 13 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Can someone put an image of Tony Anselmo in the infobox just like the Bill Farmer article, Because I don't know how to do it and I really want an image in the infobox. FrozenFan2 (talk) 02:36, 13 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

This article is on very few watchlists so this post is unlikely to be seen. I have added a request to the project box requesting a picture. That does not necessarily mean that one will be added but at least it will reach a few more editors. MarnetteD|Talk 03:32, 13 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
