The phrase it a technical term. It is anachronistic to apply it as early as the reign of Paul III, and if it applied to anyone at the time, it would have been applied to Cardinal Alessandro Farnese. Can Tiberio Crispo be called a "nephew" at all?? He was (allegedly) the Pope's son. It is true that natural sons were called 'nephews' for sake of decorum in the Papal Court, but I would need to see a reference of some reliability to consider Tiberio Crispo either a 'nephew' or a 'natural son'. Paul III was not shy about acknowledging his children and having them legitimized. Tiberio was older than Costanza Farnese and Ranuccio Farnese. Why was he not acknowledged with the name Tiberio Farnese, as the oldest son?? No, I need more proof. Vicedomino (talk) 03:46, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
