Is the author of this bio-article also the subject of the article? edit

I understand that one cannot write wikipedia articles about one's own professional work. So, I imagine, that to write articles about oneself is also unacceptable. I ask if this bio of Thomas B. Edsall has been edited by himself. The history of the article, shows a large number of edits (18) by T.edsall@verizon.net, who does not have a user page. The user T.edsall@verizon.net has also edited the biography of Karl W. Deutsch, who was Thomas B. Edsall father in law. I do not see any harm in these situations, but surely they are curious and should perhaps be clarified. Lcgarcia (talk) 06:26, 18 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Not the author as such. He did correct some errors [1], and was reverted. Subsequently the article was reworked by myself and other editors to address some problems and checked for neutrality. - Bilby (talk) 06:31, 18 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Edsall appears to be back & is trying to erase mild criticism from an established RS. He's treading on thin ice and needs to back away. Rjensen (talk) 18:19, 19 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
The External links include reviews of some of his writings. Are they good enough to get some text in this article reacting to his writings? The article describes him and all his journalism, but does not make the case for the importance of it, by indicating the responses of others, those valuable sources. I do not feel very skilled in assessing political opinion writing, so I did not make a start at excerpting from reviews or finding other secondary & tertiary sources.- - Prairieplant (talk) 08:06, 1 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Forbes quote edit

I do see the value in the description of Edsall for a recent source, but I am uncomfortable with giving a 23 year old quote prominence, with nothing newer to balance it. I've pulled it for now, as there seems to be a dispute, but are there any more recent accounts of him and his work we can use? - Bilby (talk) 01:26, 19 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Revised order of text edit

I re-worked the article by putting it in chronological order, and separating the personal life from his career. I checked some old links to learn they are dead and marked them as such. I added some parameters in the info box so that more items from the article could appear there, like his college and what he is known for. There is an absence of comments on his commentary, which seems odd. - - Prairieplant (talk) 07:49, 1 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
