Fair use rationale for Image:Stevewilkos-logo.png edit

Image:Stevewilkos-logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Post Only Serious Matters!!! edit

there are two posts so far that are just pointless, just like the very first one, if you have a problem with the show, DO NOT POST IT HERE, this is not a forum, where you can go an talk of such matters, the second post is just a waste of time to acknowledge again, post problems with the article, not about the subject, take your insults somewhere else. on that note, i do feel this article needs a criticism section, It has received not only positive reviews, but negative as well, as you can see —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.27.10.1 (talk) 02:07, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wow, this show has the fattest heroin addicts on it I've ever seen! I work in drug counselling. Couldn't they have got more realistic actors? Oh, sorry is this considered pointless? FY —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.217.69.206 (talk) 23:02, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Criticism edit

There should be a part of this article that discusses how Steve Wilko's receives criticism and how he answers his hate mail.75.179.153.39 (talk) 05:26, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

There should be a part of this page that links to Steve's Home Page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.247.29.7 (talk) 03:46, 17 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

NPOV edit

This "article" is nothing more than a promo for the show. Who wrote this, Wilkos' PR flack? Proxy User (talk) 17:19, 21 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

What do you mean this is nothing more than a promo for the show? I am removing your tag. This article is fair and unbiased and does not in any way skew one way or another. --ChrisP2K5 (talk) 06:51, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Moron Free TV. edit

Steve calls his show Moron Free TV when he pans hate mail, so I replaced that instead of saying "You can't watch my show!" twice. Speaking of morons, I move to delete all the crap that is in the discussion page that won't help make this article better. This is not a message board! 75.179.153.39 (talk) 02:42, 29 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Problems with the Premise edit

The premise here is written in a completely unencyclopedic way, and doesn't cite any sources. What can we do about this? Does anyone else have this article on their watchlist? SaintCyprian Talk 14:00, 7 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Is it possible for someone to be both 'tall' and 'stocky'? Doesn't stocky [1] mean: "heavy and compact"? Can you be 'compact' if you're tall? I know the def. linked to above also refers to one who is 'solidly built', but I thought in common use stocky referred to someone who was compact and heavy. Should it read he is "tall and solid" instead? joshua.green (talk) 05:45, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Premise section edit

I think the "Premise" section is too detailed. Anyone agree? Also, what qualifies Steve to be an expert in relationship resolutinos? In his background, he has zero qualifications or expertise to serve as the "relationship advisor" or "conflict resolutionist", which is what he does on his show. The fact that he served in the army or police force or as a security guard, does it qualify him as a host of this show or expert on what he does on his show? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.69.183.193 (talk) 19:02, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

This article is rubbish. Fix it ASAP!!! edit

I'm too lazy to do it though. I will give whoever does it a free years worth of corned beef sandwiches. 129.171.251.141 (talk) 17:34, 5 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

make it ham and cheese, and you've got a deal. ;) — Ched :  ?  00:03, 25 April 2009 (UTC) chezz chezz chezzReply

Premise edit

I feel there is a better way to present the premise section. Here are the following reasons:

  • It is represented unprofessionally
  • It is too detailed
  • It has way too many uses of quotes
  • It states the wrong typical topics
  • It uses unprofessional wording

There is a better way to represent the section. Please read it and tell what you think. Mythdon (talk) 23:15, 16 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I fixed that for you just now. Sorry I've been only interested in The Steve Wilkos Show as of this year, and I do agree with you about the fancruft that was on his page.

I actually just referenced the description about his show, but it appeared to be removed by the time I edited this article with references. =TIMMYC= (talk) 17:00, 11 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Typeface? edit

What typeface do they use for the logo? Also what typeface does the program use, i.e. the title of the show? Now I know they used Courier for the 1st and 2nd season, but now they use this typeface: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWHLiS8CvK0 Look for the typeface at the bottom of the screen at 0:05.Curvebill (talk) 18:03, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Real or fake edit

Is this show real or fake? Are the people on the show acting or are they real life situations? bring sources please. Someone65 (talk) 09:47, 7 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

This show is real. What normally happens is that people would ask Steve for help by contacting the show, and Steve tries his best to figure out how to help that person [or not, if that person doesn't deserve help]. "Lie" detectors edit

What about Wilkos' reliance on so-called lie detectors to, well, keep his ridiculous show going. Given the fact that no one without a vested interest in polygraphs believes they're any more useful than reading tea leaves, I would for Steve to ruin people's lives based on a completely unreliable "test". I know he's not the only one that seems to worship at the altar of the lie detecting pseudoscience (Maury and "Dr." Phil, I'm looking at you), but he seems to do nothing but subject gullible people to polygraphs.--172.190.65.195 (talk) 02:54, 4 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Lie detectors are typically 96% accurate, there are times when the Lie Detector doesn't reveal the whole truth. However, his lie detector expert Daniel Ribacoff is normally extremely reliable in how the Lie Detector test is administered. You can view his bio there (http://www.stevewilkos.com/bios/daniel-ribacoff.php). I hope this clarifies any issues you have with Lie Detector tests. =TIMMYC= (talk) 16:59, 11 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
The effectiveness of polygraph tests is not agreed upon, despite any claims made by individuals regarding high accuracy. See Polygraph#Effectiveness. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 19:16, 4 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
