@Randy Kryn:, regarding this edit of yours, I'm unconvinced that this painting is notable. I should start out by saying I know next to nothing about art. My interest in this article is only from when I reviewed the draft when it was at WP:AfC. But, based on the request for additional citations, I went to my local library (I am fortunate to have access to the excellent New York Public Library research facilities) and found four books on the artist:

Fragonard : art and eroticism (Sheriff, Mary D.)
Fragonard (Cuzin, Jean Pierre.)
Fragonard : drawing triumphant : works from New York collections (Stein, Perrin)
Fragonard : the fantasy figures (Jackall, Yuriko)

Only one of them (I'm afraid I don't remember which) even mentioned the painting, and that was a in-passing reference to a wall decoration in some castle which was believed to be based on this painting. So, that doesn't give me any warm and fuzzy feelings that this meets WP:GNG, regardless of the fact that it's hanging in a museum somewhere. -- RoySmith (talk) 13:45, 29 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the follow-up RoySmith. Paintings and statues usually only require the museum page for Wikipedia notability, but this one has more: The Delphi Complete Works book and the 149 Paintings You Really Need to See in Europe (So You Can Ignore the Others) links in the Further reading section, as well as the text which mentions both its precedent to The Swing and the pairing with Blind Man's Bluff. The Further Reading link to "The Art Story" also has notability content and text which could be cited as a reference. Thanks for calling me back, didn't notice that the two books needed italicizing on my previous visit. Good to meet you, and thanks for keeping track of such pages.
