Edit request, 10 May 2015
editIn the infobox it's said that the budget is $1.2 million. Then in the Critical Reception section, it's said it's "nearly $8 million". If the latter uses a figure adjusted for inflation, it should be mentioned in a note.
Also, that long quote from TV Guide mostly recaps the plot, which is meaningless in this section. It should be cut down to just the critical part, which is the first sentence only.
Also, the first three lines of the section are box office data, not critical reception. The section should be renamed "Reception", with sub-sections named "Box Office", "Critical Response", and "Accolades", as per Wikipedia's usual way. Kumagoro-42 00:33, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
The Rescuers (1974, not 1977)
editSince this was Joe Flyyn's final role before his passing in 1974, you people need to realize that this is a 1974 film, not a 1977 film. Seriously American, why would you make a film one year, and wait another year to release it and name it after that year. Why can't you be more like Japan, they waste no time at all to make a film and release it very shortly. So WHEN WILL YOU ALL GROW A FREAKING BRAIN??!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.72.214.188 (talk) 00:39, 26 December 2016 (UTC)
- Because traditionally for animated films, the voice acting is done first, then the animation is done. This allows the character to be more expressive as they already know how (and what) the character is saying and how it is said. For Live-Action films I understand, but posthumous animated films are common around the world (even in Japan). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.15.86.18 (talk) 20:08, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
- I know this was five years ago, but you’re gonna have to chill out, dude. This is obviously similar to how "The Jungle Book" was the last film Walt Disney himself produced, before he passed away in 1966, but the film wasn’t released until the fall of 1967. So if you think that one was a 1966 film instead, you’d be wrong.
- Another thing I’d like to point out - the ninth Sing-Along Songs volume in the second season of the series, called, "I Love to Laugh" had completed production in late 1990, but that wasn’t released until March 1991. Those who think that one was still 1990 are obviously wrong, including the Fandom/Wikia Disney Wiki, which lists it as released December 28, 1990. Clearly, it wasn’t released on that date, because it would NOT, and I mean ABSOLUTELY NOT, make sense for anything to be released three days after Christmas.
- End of story. And be very careful. 2601:4C4:4000:A8C0:7961:F99A:3CEE:188B (talk) 17:52, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
- As a matter of fact, the 1973 Disney educational animated short, "I’m No Fool With Electricity" still had Cliff Edwards as the voice of Jiminy Cricket (at both the lead-in/opening and lead-out/closing scenes, archive footage). It’s possible that one completed voice-acting production in early 1971 (please note Cliff Edwards did pass away that year), but clearly they had to delay it ‘till ‘73. 2601:4C4:4000:A8C0:5182:9FEA:B6BF:DD2C (talk) 11:17, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

Mice movies
editShould we mention how this appears to be then first to break into this genre? After Disney did this in 77 you had The Devil and Daniel Mouse in 78 then The Secret of NIMH in 82 (and then also by Bluth, An American Tail in 86) and they all use a similar furry animation style. Mickey was earlier but he never had fur or looked as realistic. ScratchMarshall (talk) 18:45, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
Legacy
editTragically child actress Michelle Stacy who voiced 6 year old Penny abandoned her own children and was arrested in 2019 for selling drugs in the desert outside of Los Angeles.
