Line-ups?
editThe line-up shown at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/groundhogs/Discography/Discography.html mention John Cruickshank aka John Lee, and Bob Hall, but this article doesn't. Can anyone add this info & expand...? Cheers!--Technopat (talk) 13:29, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

When did they become The Groundhogs?
editThey were originally just Groundhogs - when was The added to their name? SilkTork (talk) 15:34, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
- I see the problem - the name "groundhogs" was being used as a redirect to Groundhog. This [1] indicates that the band are primary for the term "groundhogs" than the plural for groundhog; so, per WP:PLURALPT I have renamed the article, and put in a hatnote for the few readers who may be typing "groundhogs" for the animal rather than the band. Requested move 8 March 2022
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Moved to The Groundhogs, restoring the article to previous title. And restoring Groundhogs as a redirect to Groundhog. SilkTork (talk) 18:49, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
Groundhogs → Groundhogs (band) – Article recently moved (by me) from The Groundhogs to Groundhogs per WP:PLURALPT as that is the band's name, and while Groundhog is clearly primary for the animal in the singular, it appears to be less so for the plural form. However, a concern has been raised that folks using groundhogs may be more likely looking for the animal than the band, and Groundhogs (band) may be a more appropriate name. I agree that is possible, hence this discussion to get a wider view and some consensus. SilkTork (talk) 11:03, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
- Support or move back to The Groundhogs. Groundhog has 19,324 views while only 2,033 for The Groundhogs and 253 for Groundhogs[[2]]. Google is mixed between the band and the animal but most of the results seem to use "The Groundhogs" such as their Facebook profile and while their website title is "Groundhogs & Tony McPhee Official Web Site" the URL include "The". Images and Books only shows the animal. I'd suggest redirecting to Groundhog (disambiguation) as a compromise. Crouch, Swale (talk) 11:12, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
- Move to The Groundhogs. I clicked on three references in the article [3] [4] [5] and all three use "The Groundhogs", not "Groundhogs". 162 etc. (talk) 17:29, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
- Support. Clear primary redirect to Groundhog. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:32, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
- Regarding the WP:THE I'd point out that like Sun/The Sun and Daily Mail/The Daily Mail that "Groundhogs" has a different meaning without "The" namely the animal though WP:THE does give Eagles (band) as an example that doesn't include "The" even though without it it is the animal.
