File:David - The Death of Socrates.jpg to appear as POTD soon
editHello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:David - The Death of Socrates.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on September 12, 2016. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2016-09-12. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 01:57, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
Why are the names of subjects not included in the lead section?
editThe description of the painting in the lead section reads "a stoic man", "another old man" etc. Why not just say that they are Socrates, Crito, Plato etc as is explained later in the page? Should we make this edit?
I agree ^. Abysmal writing that should be fixed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.28.83.210 (talk) 19:38, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
Plato
editIn the Phaedo, Plato admits he was absent that day due to illness. This would also be worth noting as an inaccuracy by David.
Team-B-Vital Improvement Drive
editHello all!
This article has been chosen as this fortnight's effort for WP:Discord's #team-b-vital channel, a collaborative effort to bring Vital articles up to a B class if possible, similar to WP:Articles for Improvement. This effort will run for up to a fortnight, ending early if the article is felt to be at B-class or impossible to further improve. Articles are chosen by a quick vote among interested chatters, with the goal of working together on interesting Vital articles that need improving.
