Fair use rationale for Image:30thAnniversaryConcert.jpg

edit

Image:30thAnniversaryConcert.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 05:32, 26 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why is there nothing at all about Sinead O'Connor's aborted song and her subsequent booing and singing War by Bob Marley? Surely that merits a mention. 99.7.244.51 (talk) 03:36, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I remember Sinead's debacle. I ordered this concert on pay-per-view and taped it. I remember it wasn't long after she had torn the Pope picture on Saturday Night Live. You can imagine how unpopular she was in New York City at the time. Her introduction was met with a chorus of boos which grew to a roar. She launched into the Bob Marley dialogue, obviously tense and shaken, and it became a showdown between her and the audience. Kris Kristofferson walked out on stage and said into her ear: "Don't let the bastards get you down" and she just kinda collapsed into his arms. He started to walk her off stage, and something strange happened. I watched the tape later and realized that Sinead was vomiting. I'm pretty sure it even hit Kris, you can see him reel back in horror at one point. I thought it was quite funny at the time.

I agree. In fact there were songs that were performed that weren't included on the CD. Mainly 2-3 songs performed by Dylan. Is this page about the CONCERT or just the CD release??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.249.163.130 (talk) 05:13, 2 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

There's a description of the incident in the Sinéad O'Connor article. One of the cited sources is a YouTube video. (I didn't check to see if the video is still on YouTube.) Perhaps this link should be added to this article in a "See also" section. --anon. 71.183.139.60 (talk) 08:14, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
