TUC Name Origin Discussion edit

I've added the best reference that I can get from Jacob Fruitfield. These are snippets of the relevant emails (with the guy's name removed as he didn't want to be quoted directly):

To clarify, the name Tuc comes from Trade Union Congress. The story goes that they didn't have a name for the cracker when they were launching into the UK, and they saw a billborad announcing the Trade Union Congress, or abbreviated as TUC. So at the last minute they chose the name Tuc.

Hi,
I heard this directly from somebody else who would be closer to the brand, so would prefer if I was not quoted directly.
Kind Regards, (signature as above)

You can quote the reference from Kraft Europe.
Thanks, (signature as above)

If anyone can come up with something better that's great - but this is as good as I can get...

This seems to be a hpax. TUC crackers were created and named in Belgium and the name has nothing to do with the Trades Union Congress. http://www.kraftfoodscompany.com/eu/en/brands/brands_az/brands-t/index.aspx Harry the Dog WOOF 10:18, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Link to TV show edit

Is there any point in this? I can see no link other than the (coincidental?) name similarity. Grebbsy (talk) 01:05, 12 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
