Talk:Strawberry Prince

Latest comment: 2 years ago by Mugenpman in topic Treatment of Nanamori

Hello! I have no idea what this does, but since I sourced a lot of my last edit to the Japanese wiki page... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:442:c280:17f0:59df:4e47:3a52:2b98 (talkcontribs) 03:20, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Needed major revision

edit

I noticed this article needs a major revision as some the information were overflowed and disorganized. I'll be following format from other articles from Japanese idol groups. I'm not a professional editor, so feel free to check my changes.

Edited: I think it is better to delete the excess information under member section. As for the discography, shall we move it to discography section or to create another article for each of the members?

Deleting live events section

edit

Looking at articles for other bands, having a section for live events is highly unusual. I'm deleting it, but I'll move it here in case there is some reason to add it back later. Mlb96 (talk) 03:24, 23 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Deleting guest appearances section

edit

It's unusual for an article on a band to list every time they've been interviewed on TV in their article, so I removed it and am putting it here in case there is a good reason to put it back later. Mlb96 (talk) 06:31, 31 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Okay, so apparently I'm a dumbass and this is actually a list of performances on TV shows, not a list of interviews. Still, I don't think this is normally included in bands' Wikipedia pages, so I'm leaving it out for now. Mlb96 (talk) 23:37, 1 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

About "nicknames" and member colors

edit

@Lullabying: You recently removed the band's "nicknames" and the member colors. First, I've put the mention of the name "SutoPuri" back into the article. You removed it because it was a "non-notable nickname," but the truth is that すとぷり is actually their official name in Japanese. The band is quite literally never referred to as すとろべりーぷりんす in Japanese, they're only ever referred to as すとぷり. The title of the page should remain at "Strawberry Prince" instead of "SutoPuri" because the former is the common name in English, but the latter must be mentioned in the page.

As for member colors, I agree that it is trivia; or at least, it would appear to be trivia. The thing is that the colors are pretty much the only way to differentiate the members' characters from each other, as they all look incredibly similar otherwise, just take a look. If there were a picture in the article of the members' characters, then I think it would make sense to mention their colors so that readers could know which character is which person's. The reason that there isn't one is because I don't think it is likely that there are any free-to-use images of their characters. If one is found and added to the article, then I would urge that the colors be put back in. Mlb96 (talk) 18:27, 30 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hey there; there have been discussions on including member colors all across Wikipedia and for the most they are considered promotional. lullabying (talk) 18:32, 30 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
That's fair. It ultimately doesn't matter, because there's basically no chance that this article will ever have an image. Regarding the other name, do you agree that it should be kept in or do you still think it should be removed? Mlb96 (talk) 18:38, 30 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I think it should be written as "Strawberry Prince (すとぷり SutoPuri)" then? Because if they were never referred to as the full pronunciation in Japanese in the first place, it shouldn't be in the lead. lullabying (talk) 20:41, 30 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okay, "literally never" may have been an exaggeration, as I'm certain that I've seen promotional art which had すとろべりーぷりんす written out in full. Although now that I'm actually looking, I can't even find that particular image anymore. You may be right. Mlb96 (talk) 21:01, 30 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I think what happened is that I looked at the jawiki article, which says that they used to go by すとろべりーぷりんす but now go by すとぷり. But the source given doesn't actually support that assertion. So yeah, there are no reliable sources in existence which have used すとろべりーぷりんす and it should be removed. Mlb96 (talk) 21:12, 30 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Treatment of Nanamori

edit

Hi, my name is Mugenpman. I usually edit the Japanese Wikipedia.

This article treats Nanamori as both current and past members, but it should be either. By the way, in the article of Japanese Wikipedia, it is treated as a current member (ja:すとぷり). This is because it is not the end of the activity, but the suspension of the activity. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mugenpman (talkcontribs) 14:00, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

What are you talking about? The article states that he is a current member but that he is inactive. Mlb96 (talk) 03:43, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I see what you're referring to. I've fixed the error. Mlb96 (talk) 03:45, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry that the explanation is difficult to understand because English is not my mother tongue.
Thank you for editing. Mugenpman (talk) 12:39, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
