Stockholm-Åre bid for the 2026 Winter OlympicsStockholm–Åre bid for the 2026 Winter Olympics – Stockholm and Åre are just two separate places working together so their names should be loosely connected with a dash, not tightly combined using a hyphen. The dash produces a compound, "Stockholm–Åre", where the connection between the two might otherwise be expressed with the word "and", as in "Stockholm and Åre" > see MOS:ENBETWEEN. Hyphenating "Stockholm-Åre" connects the two together and produces a conjoined compound word. It implies that Stockholm somehow modifies Åre, i.e. it's not just Åre, it's Stockholm-Åre! > see MOS:HYPHEN. Rodney Baggins (talk) 23:08, 10 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Support – The en dash clearly conveys the parallel relationship, while the hyphen misleads making it look like one name. Dicklyon (talk) 04:25, 13 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
