BR class 68

edit

The decision to delete the page on the BR class 68 now seems wrong, since the locomotives are under construction. this leaves the new 68s as the only major UK class of locomotive without their own wiki page.

The deleted page was substantially correct and there is enough material from DRS and the manufacturers to correct it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skinner doc (talkcontribs) 18:57, 9 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed split - British Rail Class 68

edit

There seems to be sufficient information from reliable sources to split off a new article British Rail Class 68 (currently redirects here). It is the only UK diesel locomotive class without a separate page. Zombie Aardvark (talk) 04:40, 18 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps, if the article that I produced last summer can be resurrected, that could be taken as a starting point Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/British Rail Class 68 Hammersfan (talk) 11:51, 20 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

If you want to request a Deletion Review and use that as the basis for a new article, I would support it. Zombie Aardvark (talk) 03:55, 21 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have requested a deletion review of British Rail Class 68. Zombie Aardvark (talk) 01:58, 27 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

I agree, the deletion was at a point when there was substantial information about this forthcoming class of locomotive and I opposed it. All BR (sensu lato) locomotives have a specific entry in wiki and this new, unique and interesting class needs an entry. It will be in traffic within a year. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.176.191.192 (talk) 21:08, 11 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

I also agree with the eventual spiting of a second BR Class 68 page, it's standard with all other British Rail locomotives. --The Navigators (talk)-May British Rail Rest in Peace. 00:06, 20 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Not to forget that a British version is narrower an less tall. Peter Horn User talk 14:51, 6 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

I too agree and did make representations against the loss of the class 68 page. This is now almost a class in traffic, an important development and should have, like all major UK locomotives, a specific page. The deleted material is a good starting point. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skinner doc (talkcontribs) 21:07, 22 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Nothing seens to have happened on this in a while - can someone give the deletion review request another look? 193.108.78.10 (talk) 10:48, 28 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
