One thing that confuses me. The trivia at the bottom of this article indicates that this show was the first live action show to feature the hero controlling a giant robot to fight giant enemies. However, Giant Robo was produced in 1967, over 10 years before Spiderman tokusatsu. I want to remove the trivia entry, but I want to make sure I'm not missing something first. Could anyone clarify please? Thanks. - ProfMoriarty

Giant Robo does have the fact that it's not used to defeat 'giants', but that's taken over by Jumborg Ace which predates Spider-Man anyway. Removing therefore. -- Hidoshi 00:56, 6 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Maybe it's not really the first (yet the information on Giant Robo and Jumborg Ace didn't quite clarify wether a costumed hero piloted a giant robot with henge, but this fact is significant because the popularity of the concept led to revival of Super Sentai series, which led to Power Rangers. --RockyMM 13:10, 22 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Supaidā-ManSpider-Man (tokusatsu)Rationale: Per WP:MOS-JA#Romanisation #2, for Japanese words in katakana, use the English spelling if available. The term is a translitelation of English "Spider-Man". --Kusunose 16:37, 10 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Toei Spiderman DVD Box Set.PNG

edit

Image:Toei Spiderman DVD Box Set.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Japanese Wikipedia translation

edit

I've translated almost all of the relevant content from the Japanese language article to the English version. There's still a few things I've yet to add (like the airing dates, writers, directors, guest-stars, and monsters of each episode, as well as a few anecdotes), but almost everything else has been carried over. Feel free to many any corrections or ask for a clarification that must be made. Jonny2x4 (talk) 18:22, 9 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Spider-Man (Toei TV series)Spider-Man (Japanese TV series) – Totally non-standard disambiguation as per WP:NCTV: this one isn't even diambig'ed by TV network (which has been deprecated under NCTV) – it's disambig'ed by production company! which we never do under WP:NCTV. Most of the other Spider-Man TV series are American in origin (see: Spider-Man (disambiguation)#Television), so it makes the most sense to disambiguate "by country" in this case. However, if people would prefer to stick with consistent "by year" disambiguation for this suite of articles, then Spider-Man (1978 TV series) is also a viable option (though this option will lead to significant confusion for readers looking for the 1977–1979 U.S. TV series, The Amazing Spider-Man (TV series), so I think it is the less optimal solution in this case). --IJBall (contribstalk) 14:46, 9 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Producer information updating

edit

After watching the first episode of Marvel's 616 concerning the Japanese version of Spiderman, I was surprised to see no mention of Gene Pelc on this page. I added his name as a producer which is in line with what Marvel published on Disney+ where Gene Pelc is interviewed extensively by Disney for this episode.[1][2]

Gene Pelc was in charge of Japan as a territory, he negotiated the deal between Toei and Marvel, after which he was involved in production, licensing and merchandising for the TV series. Without his involvement there would have been no Japanese Spiderman so he definitely deserves a mention. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GUIB Corrector (talkcontribs) 05:13, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
