Setlist template
editOn most prior tours, Muse would often radically change their setlist structure throughout the various legs (Source). However, as noted in the article, this was not the case for Simulation Theory World Tour, where it was rarely changed at all.
Hence, when I added the setlist, I used an Iron Maiden setlist for reference, given that the former band, unlike Muse, usually keeps the same setlist for one entire tour, with the few adjustions being listed under "Notes". Furthermore, this template would have included album references for each individual song, which is quite useful for statistical purposes, and given that some of the compositions lack individual articles.
This is how it would have looked:
- "Algorithm (Alternate Reality version)" (from Simulation Theory, 2018)
- "Pressure" (from Simulation Theory, 2018)
- "Drill Sergeant" / "Psycho" (from Drones, 2015)
- "Break It to Me" (from Simulation Theory, 2018)
- "Uprising" (from The Resistance, 2009)
- "Propaganda" (from Simulation Theory, 2018)
- "Plug in Baby" (from Origin of Symmetry, 2001)
- "Pray (High Valyrian)" (Matthew Bellamy cover)
- "The Dark Side" (from Simulation Theory, 2018)
- "Supermassive Black Hole" (from Black Holes and Revelations, 2006)
- "Thought Contagion" (from Simulation Theory, 2018)
- "Interlude" / "Hysteria" (from Absolution, 2003)
- "The 2nd Law: Unsustainable" (from The 2nd Law, 2012)
- "Dig Down (Acoustic Gospel Version)" (from Simulation Theory, 2018)
- "STT Interstitial 1" (Interlude)
- "Madness" (from The 2nd Law, 2012)
- "Mercy" (from Drones, 2015)
- "Time is Running Out" (from Absolution, 2003)
- "Houston Jam" (bass and drums jam, with "Futurism", "Unnatural Selection" and "Micro Cuts" riffs)
- "Take a Bow" (from Black Holes and Revelations, 2006)
- "Prelude" (from The 2nd Law, 2012) / "Starlight" (from Black Holes and Revelations, 2006)
Encore
- "STT Interstitial 2" (Interlude)
- "Algorithm" (from Simulation Theory, 2018)
- "STT Interstitial 3" (Interlude)
- "Metal Medley" (Extracts from "Stockholm Syndrome", "Assassin", "Reapers", "The Handler", "New Born")
- "Man with a Harmonica" / "Knights of Cydonia" (from Black Holes and Revelations, 2006)
Notes:
- "Undisclosed Desires" (from The Resistance, 2009) was occasionally played at outdoor gigs from the European Leg onwards, being played after Dig Down.
- "Bliss" (from Origin of Symmetry, 2001) was occasionally played at outdoor gigs from the European leg onwards, being played after Hysteria.
- "The Void" (from Simulation Theory, 2018) was played on the 12th, 14th and 15th September 2019, being played after Dig Down.
- "Showbiz" (from Showbiz, 1999) was played at a few shows at the end of the tour after Hysteria, mostly due to high fan demand for the song.
- "Metal Medley" was not played at the concert in Buenos Aires on 11 October 2019, due to poor weather.
- "Houston Jam" and "Take a Bow" were both skipped in the last 5 shows of the tour.
Although my contribution was ultimately changed in a later revision by a fellow editor, I still find this setlist template to be superior, due to the reasons listed above. For the record, I am not intending to engage in an edit war and I surely do not want to give the impression that I am, which is why I have stopped contributing to this article altogether. On the other hand, talk pages are intended for discussion, so I shall just be leaving this here.
