Is having the logos a fair use and are they necessary?

edit

Due to recent deletions going on in conference pages and other sports pages...is it fair use to have the logos on this page? Also, if it is fair use shouldn't they be smaller? Evill72 01:36, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I believe they are fair use because they are being used to illustrate a sporting event the two teams participate in. But I do agree that they could be smaller so I reduced them to 150px. Do you think this is sufficient? KnightLago 02:50, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think the size is better now, maybe a bit smaller wouldn't hurt...maybe we can make an infobox for the game and incorporate the logos...what do you think? Evill72 03:10, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Actually don't change the sizes, it looks good...I took a second look at it. Evill72 03:15, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm an intellectual property lawyer. Fair use is sort of a sliding scale, with a number of factors tipping the scale one way or the other. This use is unlikely to affect the commercial value of the logos, and is being used to illustrate the connection with the actual institutions; the logos are quick identifiers of public entities about which the public has the right to know. Fair use, yes indeed. bd2412 T 03:29, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Shula Bowl and Don Shula Award

edit

pretty much the same information in each article suggest Award be made a redirect to Shula Bowl and added any addtional info (if any) to Bowl article Smith03 00:45, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good. KnightLago 01:41, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. I do a lot of the stuff on Wiki for Florida Atlantic University. As long as it redirects to the Shula Bowl page, NOT vice-versa. The award is miniscule compared to the game itself. Yezn0r 01:02, 7 April 2007

Basketball section

edit

Does anyone else agree that the basketball section doesn't belong here? It is an article about a football game. I feel a separate article which is dedicated to the two schools rivalry is warranted in which the basketball info could be added or a separate article dedicated to the basketall rivalry should be created. Either way it doesn't belong on an article called the Shula Bowl. Just a suggestion. Evill72 20:52, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Since there was no comments, suggestions, or objections I created a separate basketball page at FAU-FIU Basketball Rivalry. Please feel free to add & help improve the new page. Evill72 19:30, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
The basketball thing doesn't belong here. KnightLago (talk) 04:19, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why are the Previous Results color coded?

edit

This is a neutral site with repect to the rivalry between the two teams. The results of previous Shula Bowls are color coded to visually enhance one of the college's win(s). FAU wins are red and the FIU win is blue. Other colleges that have their own football sites on wikipedia usually use blue for wins and red for losses. The colors should be removed.--Jatblue (talk) 02:40, 19 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Or they could simply be reversed to follow the trend in other articles. KnightLago (talk) 03:30, 19 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Besides this, isn't FIU supposed to vacate all wins during 2005? I believe, according to NCAA terms, FIU cannot show this game as a win or even played. FIU was found to be using inelegible players during this time and other seasons. They are still under probation.--Jatblue (talk) 17:16, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
