Shrine of Husayn's Head in 1943
  • ... that the demolition of the Shrine of Husayn's Head (pictured), probably the most important Shi'a Muslim shrine in Israel, may have been related to efforts to transfer Palestinians out of the country? Source: Petersen, A. (2017). "Shrine of Husayn's Head". Bones of Contention: Muslim Shrines in Palestine. Heritage Studies in the Muslim World. Springer Singapore. p. 108. ISBN 978-981-10-6965-9. Retrieved 2023-01-06. Shrine of Husayn's Head: Probably the most important Shiʿa shrine in Palestine is the mashhad in Ascalon... and Talmon-Heller, Daniella; Kedar, B. Z.; Reiter, Yitzhak (2016-01-30). "Vicissitudes of a Holy Place: Construction, Destruction and Commemoration of Mashhad Ḥusayn in Ascalon". Der Islam. 93 (1). Walter de Gruyter GmbH. doi:10.1515/islam-2016-0008. ISSN 1613-0928. The reason for the demolition order is not spelled out in the documentation, but Dayan's order to blow up the mashhad near Ascalon may have been related to his endeavors, documented from 10 November 1949 on, to transfer the Arabs of nearby Majdal to the Gaza Strip, Jordan and localities in central Israel, a transfer that was concluded on 11 October 1950.

Overall:   @Onceinawhile: Ok article but there are many missing citations after sentences that will need to be added for this to pass. Also that picture is definitely clear at that size. Onegreatjoke (talk) 23:06, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Shrine of Husayn's Head in 1943

Thank you for the review Onegreatjoke. I have been through and added the missing citations. On image, the other alternative is shown on the right here - I have colorized it to make it look even clearer. Onceinawhile (talk) 23:33, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

I doubt the image will go through but approve for citations seeming alright. Onegreatjoke (talk) 21:10, 9 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
