So he is a "is an Persian Kosovar Albanian footballer also a German citizen"?! Another classic sample of how unreliable Wikipedia could be when it comes to "nationalistic" views. Mr. Arifi is not Persian (take a look at the place of birth), nor an Iranian (being not born in Iran, not having an Iranian father, no Iranian ancestry whatsoever). There's also no source confirming he has an Iranian passport. Even in that case, he would by no means be a Persian!--188.34.55.246 (talk) 07:26, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is not unreliable, provided an editor can provide sources. I can only imagine that someone has assumed him to be of Persian origin because of his surname. But then Albanian and Persian origin names have often been mixed up. Of course, if he were Persian, he wouldn't be Albanian. Kosovan or Kosovar pertains to all ethnicities living in Kosovo, it may just have been the case that a non-Albanian spoke Albanian as a native tongue, as with the Ashkali population. It indeed is unreliable based on objective evidence in this case, you just said somebody has assumed something which was not the case. I see no problem with the Kosovo Albanian thing, I just say he is not Persian/Iranian. And quite interestingly and on the contrary, I believe there may be some "special" intentions depicting him as an Iranian (e.g. playing in the national team maybe) --Kourosh.Alavi (talk) 07:43, 13 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
