Im pretty sure I read somewhere Furman was also a coach, and even almost a father substitue, to young grandmaster Spassky. Helping much in his development both as person and as chess master. This after Spassky got into a conflict with his coach Tolush and their cooperation ended. I dont remember where I read this, so I dont dare to myself change the text of the article. But trying to refresh my memory, I see Tolush was indeed a trainer of Spassky, so Im sure I do remember correctly.

I saw Bondarevski was a long time coach of Spassky, so it was poosibly him who was this father figure. Still, Im quite sure Furman did had some coach and mentor connection with Spassky. Followed with him when he was still youth to a tournament abrodad (Poland?)? Errata again. It dawned on me it was surely the young Anatoliy Karpov whom visited Poland (Polanica Zdrój?1967??) together with grandmaster Furman.
