We only need one poster
editI am perturbed about the number of posters on this page. As posters can be used under fair use, adding multiple posters will only weaken any fair use claims. We need only one for commentary purposes. So let's just please choose one that best suits the article and IFD the rest, ok? Any questions, comments or concerns should be listed here on this page and not at my talk page. Thanks! -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 03:09, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, I went ahead and removed two of the posters from the page, leaving the one that was first added. If any concerns arise because of this, add them to this talk page. Thanks! -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 03:27, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
Brenda's Death
editDidn't Brenda die in Scary Movie 3?
Yes Brenda did die in Scary movie 3 but since she also died in the orginal scary movie I think we can rubbish all plot continuity. Jamesbuc.
Something like this:
Cindy: Brenda? I thought you were dead. Brenda: Ah, I thought you were dead too.
And then it's never brought up again.Eric Sieck 04:14, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Since the whole point of this film is meant as parody, it can be safely assumed that no continuity exists within the film itself, or is associated within the film. An example of this would be a character's shirt becoming wet, but a few seconds later their shirt is dry. --166.102.104.84 04:05, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
MPAA
editNo info on this movie at MPAA web site yet so considered provisional. Garglebutt / (talk) 23:13, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
Pictures
editThere are far too many pictures in this article with many of them not really representative of any of the themes of the movie. I'm going to cull some of them. Garglebutt / (talk) 01:39, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
I agree, I did so earlier but got reverted --Jaranda wat's sup 01:41, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
Story
editI'm concerned about the story section. It reads like a scene by scene synopsis which seems rather extreme. I'm inclined to take an axe to it but not sure where to start. Garglebutt / (talk) 01:39, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
I read the story and it looks like a hyperactive kid explaining what happens to an adult.
- That's what happens when you outlaw scary movie entries on Wikipedia. When scary movie entries are outlawed, only hyperactive kids will have scary movie entries. Or something like that, I really don't know, and I'm far too drunk to care. --166.102.104.83 07:15, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
Scary Movie 5
editDavid Zucker was on Dr. Phil today, and I was watching the ending and he offered a guest (I forgot who) a walk-on speaking role in Scary Movie 5. So I guess you can count that as official. Mshake3 21:57, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Yeah thats true but thats just not enough infomation though for a whole new page for Scary Movie 5. Jamesbuc
Huh?
edit"It shows him in the middle of the road with his face ripped off, revealing a mask. It turns out that the narrator was actually the guy from the airport. His final line is "I'll be back for you my son." It then shows a picture of the ghost boy, as he gets run over once again by a large truck with a Tr-ipod advertisement on it. Then the movie ends there."
I don't remember that in that in the movie. Is this a second ending or somthing? I saw the ending with Oprah. I saw the 7 o' clock showing at my town and this was not shown.--Dil 01:49, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
- I too did not see this part, nor did I see the part about the airport scene. The version I saw, saw Brenda and Cindy meet at an airplane crash when Cindy goes walk-a-bout amidst the wreckage and the part of the plot preceding the Million Dollar Baby spoof was a little different. 60.226.73.18 00:30, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'm wondering if this was just made up, or if it's a deleted scene that will appear on the DVD. The version I saw had JEJ get smashed by a bus, then we cut to the Oprah ending. --166.102.104.83 06:00, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Also, if it ends there, then the scene with Oprah (which is seen on every commercial) wouldn't be shown.
Andre Benjamin
editRemoved him from the cast listing- I don't see him credited anywhere on any other site. If he was, in fact, in the movie, please reference this.-RomeW 09:35, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- I will add, since he was placed back in the cast listing, that I *have* seen the movie and I didn't see him once. I also remember no Redeye spoof.-RomeW 20:11, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
No mention of him in his wiki, his imdb, or this movie's imdb.
Mini-Spoofs?
editDid anyone else not notice these:- Red Eye, The Simple Life, Cursed, Hustle & Flow. If you did see them please mention them below :-) On the other hand i think i spotted a bit of shrek 2, the bit before they set off to meet the parents, or on the way, can't remember where it was in scary movie 4 tho. (213.121.151.202 23:39, 25 April 2006 (UTC))
When Bierko and the kids follow the shotgun guy (Michael MAdsen), what movie is this scene from? I seem to remember a film, where Madsen looks out of a hooded cloak - was that Bloodrayne? -78.51.100.96 (talk) 09:17, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
The Ring Two
editThis movie DOES spoof The Ring Two. I haven't seen many horror movies because they suck and they're boring, but that's not the point. The point is that I have seen The Ring Two (as one of the few horror movies I saw) and I totally recocnised the part when the boy is coming down the stairs walking all weird. The boy with the white face and black hair lookes SO much like the girl in The Ring Two, so if you don't agree you should watch The Ring Two (again) or it is because I haven't seen The Grudge and that the whole idea of the girl with the black hair is stolen from The Grudge. Wich can't be because The Ring movies are based on Japanese films called Ringu and Ringu 2 which were made in the late '90's. Probably you should do your movie homework a little better. Might I suchest to visit the movie database more often.
- The scene with the boy falling down the stairs is from The Grudge. Cyclone49 23:11, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yes in the Grudge the boy does fall down the stairs, but the way he comes down the stairs, the way he moves his legs are exactly the same as the way the girl from the Ring climbs up the well. Arath 18:29, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yes but she does so in The Ring, not simply the Ring 2. The writers said how they originally planned to parody The Ring 2 but changed their minds after the poor audience turn-out for the film while it was in theaters.
- In The Grudge, the boy (or the mother, i forget who) does come down the stairs similarly to The Ring, since both are Japanese horror movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.49.105.224 (talk) 19:34, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
At one point, Cindy gets punched so hard that she is sent spiraling backward, while dramatic music plays
edit'At one point, Cindy gets punched so hard that she is sent spiraling backward, while dramatic music plays' does she really get punched? It seems she swings her hand while opponent stoops to take a coin, when Cindy starts falling, because of her unfortunate attack.
King Kong
editHow come King Kong is on the poster but is not in the film. Just wondering.
It was for marketing purpouses.
Yeah it is. Even Zucker mentioned in an interview that he doesnt know why its there.
Michael Madson
editThis was in the trivia: "This is the first time that Michael Madsen acted a strange character." I removed it, because it is badly worded, and "strange character" is subjective. Actually, it just plain doesn't make sense. --68.149.181.145 07:36, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
I deleted a bunch of pointless/obvious pieces of trivia. That "plot summary" needs to be changed, although I'm not touching it with a ten foot pole. James 21:22, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
Netherlands Box Office
editNothing against the Netherlands at all, but it seems very odd to have the Netherlands box office listed --Jabbathenut 15:50, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- I removed it. -- Cbrown1023 22:11, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Article Needs Clean-Up
editThere's a lot of errors throughout the article, and the plot summary needs to be edited. Just went through quickly and fixed a few mistakes. If someone knows more about the film, please fix it. --Nehrams2020 03:15, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- I marked it for copyediting since it could desperately use it. 75.2.9.203 16:32, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
Baxter spoofing Bush?
editWhy does it say that? He just plays a dim-witted president. Now if they had made him do something that Bush did, then yes I suppose it would but I didn't notice anything.
- He is spoofing Bush because he is shown in a classroom while a book is being read, like Bush on September 11. Cbrown1023
- This is not a random spoof. It is a spoof of Farenheit 9/11, one of Michael Moore's documentaries which is criticising Bush. Although I must admit I'm rather surprised as to why no one found that out earlier, seeing as its quite obvious. --218.186.8.12 13:42, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Spoofs
editFarenheit 9/11, a 2004 documentary by Michael Moore was a spoof here. It involves "President Bush" reading a book in a Floridian classroom when told that "the nation is under attack". The clip of Scary Movie 4 is almost exactly in the same setting as that of Farenheit 9/11. Michael Moore has chosen to dramatise this situation by adding his own personal comments to the documentary and Scary Movie 4 has dramatised it further by Bush and the children spitting water at each other. --218.186.8.12 13:40, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Redirected
editYou get redirected here from Scary Movie 5. Could someone fix that?
Final Destination confusion
editOkay recently I watched all four films again (yay! Party with friends) anyway. While watching I couldnt help but notice that I couldnt see a single reference to any of the final destination movies. Can somebody tell me what the spoof/reference/whatever of FD is in ANY of the SC movies? Jamesbuc
It's planned for Scary Movie 5

Phil and Shaq
editUh what exactly were "electrician Phil" and Shaq ment to do after they cut their feet off? Jigsaw doesn't mention what they're meant to do and it is never really stated.203.53.167.180 09:40, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure the goal was simply pure survival. Lots42 (talk) 03:59, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Parody of HL2?
editWhile I understand that despite the similarity with HL2's striders, the triPods were actually a parody of War of the Worlds. However, in the scene where that guy stands with a shotgun and says "Follow me to safety" seems directly out of Half Life 2 ("We don't go to Ravenholm"). Is that right or is there another movie with a similar scene? -- Ynhockey (Talk) 21:24, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
I agree, but I have to also add that the way the half life parody section is worded sounds very much like a shameless advertisement "one of the most successful video games of all time" come on, this is unnessisary. 24.79.129.48 (talk) 02:16, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

List of parodies
editPlease discuss here regarding whether parody lists should be included in Scary Movie and its sequels. Ward3001 (talk) 22:03, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- It should be included same as the others in this series but it should also be limited and reliably sourced. Do not restore without reliable sources.[1] -- 109.79.84.219 (talk) 23:47, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
- Scary Movie 5 does a particularly good job, plenty of references and a paragraph of text rather than a list. -- 109.79.84.219 (talk) 23:54, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
