I can guess what the title SMILF stands for (some variation of MILF presumably) but I came to this encyclopedia looking for a clear answer and did not find it. I think it is very important that this article explain what the title means. -- 109.78.225.37 (talk) 20:34, 21 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

The “S” stands for “single” in new Showtime comedy SMILF apparently. Edwardx (talk) 20:52, 21 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. -- 109.78.225.37 (talk) 23:56, 21 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

i object to the wording "SMILF stands for Single MILF". linguistically "single mother" is a unit; it's more like "[single mother] ILF".
"variant" of MILF or "patterned after" MILF, yes, but not "single MILF" per se. it's more SM-ILF than S-MILF. 209.172.23.57 (talk) 01:49, 15 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

wording should be tweaked to reflect the following:
"Shaw has said that the show’s title—the 'S' stands for 'Single,' or 'Southie,' or both — is meant to be ironic."

personally, i find the "southie mother..." reading a stretch, but if she said it, she said it. 173.9.95.217 (talk) 16:32, 17 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
