No more drinking game

This is the second time in a week that I've removed details of an eponymous drinking game from this article. In fact, the drinking game had its very own article, but it was nominated for deletion and received a unanimous delete vote - the stand-alone article is now gone, and this article should have no mention of the drinking game.

Frat boys, if you must, just put a sentence about it in the drinking games article. That's the only place it conceivably belongs, and even then only with a cite.

Ah here now, please please tell me how a line in an artic monkeys song or the fact it was in the office is significant but not a game played by millions the world over?? I'm fascinated, this isn't some site to shoot down genuine aspects of life for people just because they're school-going, just because you feel it is below you(which you must by using frat boys) doesn't mean it shouldn't be included.One line can hardly hurt.plokt 21:17, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

I completely agree with the guy above this is a real drinking game and it is a reference to Roxanne therefore it needs to be in the article.Parralax 23:12, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

The reason for the deletion of the Roxanne (drinking game) article was due to the lack of notability and because, from what I've read here at Blackberrylaw's link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Roxanne_%28drinking_game%29_%282nd_nomination%29) it was wrongly described, in that it was stated a whole drink was consumed on the indicated lyrics and not just a sip. The addition of the drinking game information to this article is very much like that included on Withnail and I#Drinking game which is not at all questioned. I see no reason not to to include a small section within this article. Ej159 (talk) 13:56, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Merge

48 hours

Eddie Murphy does sing along to the song in his very first scene in 48 Hrs, his first movie, before Nick Nolte grabs his Sony Walkman. Someone in the History has claimed the song was in the sequel, Another 48 Hrs, but it's actually in both films and the use in the sequel is a reference to the first film. Roxanne (song) → Roxanne (The Police song) – I apologize if my move of the page came as a shock to anyone a couple weeks ago, but now, as the Arizona Zervas song of the same name has officially hit the top five on the Billboard Hot 100, I think it is time. I realize this song has been a classic for the last 41 years since its release, but the two songs are from two different decades where based on chart positions, neither song is dominant over the other. Cover by Fall Out Boy

I recently listened to Fall Out Boy's first album and I was surprised to hear their cover of the song. I am shocked to see that it's not mentioned here? Does it not count as a cover? TheForsaken99 (talk) 17:45, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
