Neutrality, Conflict edit

I am.of the view thay we should not be deleting pages, nor will I take a position on whether it qualifies for notability, but the mere fact that the subject himself is editing the page suggests notability test not met. Article created for writer, today for musician.

Topics from the occult or imaginary non-objective world of creative writing need to have relevance to broader human society, rather than to promote personal commercial ventures through Wikipedia.

Proposed Deletion edit

This article has been previously deleted and has appeared again. I move to delete this page immediately. Theseus1776 (talk) 17:53, 3 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think that the fact that you are engaged in an edit war with me on various other pages may be worthy of mention here. Some might think that your desire for speedy deletion might be motivated by that. If not, please give your reasons - notability has been discussed above to great extent, please add your arguments to it.--Rodneyorpheus (talk) 11:59, 5 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Religious categories edit

Even if the category was added by the subject, WP:BLPCAT requires that it be established in the article with a citation. Yworo (talk) 17:50, 6 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Recent Vandalism edit

An anonymous user decided to post something here recently about my OTO membership that was not only unsourced but was also quite inaccurate. For the record I didn't recently resign as FSR of OTO Ireland - I haven't been FSR of OTO Ireland for a couple of years already. It's true that I am no longer a member of OTO, so I've removed that wording for the sake of clarity, even though there hasn't been any public announcement about it. Let's assume that this is it for now :-) --Rodneyorpheus (talk) 23:10, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Isn't it completely inappropriate and a direct violation of Wikipedia policy and standards for you to be editing your own page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.155.149.132 (talk) 03:46, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

No, it's not. It's generally frowned upon, but it's not a direct violation. I'm a long-time Wikipedia editor with well over 1000 edits to my credit and hundreds of Talk page comments, so my bona fides as an editor here are well-established - it's not like I only pop up here to edit my own page. I also take great pains to ensure that what I write or edit (here and elsewhere) is supported by properly sourced and verifiable citations, so that it is clear that it is factual, or the opinion of other notable commentators, and not my own personal opinion or distortions. However if anyone has issues with what is written or done here by me then I'm certainly open to discuss it. I strongly believe that Wikipedia's policies on biographies of living people overall is a lot more important than my own personal opinion of what goes in here and what doesn't (otherwise I can assure you this would be a very different article). I reverted the page last night because the edits that had been made were completely unsourced - which is hardly surprising because they were also totally factually incorrect, so finding such a source would be difficult to say the least. I have also tried to make good faith edits in the meantime to reflect the nature of the issue at hand in an attempt to seek a compromise solution amenable to all editors. That's how Wikipedia is supposed to work. --Rodneyorpheus (talk) 18:26, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

COI edit

I see someone has added a COI tag to this article, which is completely reasonable. However please note that this has already been discussed at some length in preceding years - see previous section. I'm always happy to discuss it again though, if anyone has issues with any edits I've made.Rodneyorpheus (talk) 17:18, 25 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

you should not be editing your own page, full stop. Use the request edit template. Saying you have some kind of argument that permits you to do so ignores the long-established COI policies.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 23:12, 1 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Can you please quote these policies you refer to? It would be good to know exactly which policies have been broken. Rodneyorpheus (talk) 15:55, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

Struggling to see how he passes WP:GNG the sources are appalling, Tree of Life, IMDb, Discogs and iconnectivity blog are not reliable sources, others are just passing mentions, yet other sources don't even mention him, not sure this would survive an WP:AFD. Proposed merge with The Cassandra Complex (band) edit

Deletion discussion suggested it and there doesn't seem to be enough reliable sources for his own article. Theroadislong (talk) 13:20, 7 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Orpheus notable as an author edit

Rodney Orpheus is notable as an author of several books as well as being a musician and game developer. If Allen Greenfield merits his own page for cranking out shabby edits of Kessinger publications, then Orpheus--whose scholarship is original--definitely deserves his own page. Eyes down, human.
