This Artikel is not unbiased
editReally this Artikel reads like a hagiography. There is valid criticism on his style of leadership (authoritarian) or his theolgy (fringe Opinonion, Not s widly shared in the academic world) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.79.60.150 (talk) 09:33, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
Attacks on this article
edit4-6 June 2014: An individual in Houston, TX made edits attacking Thieme and promoting other religious beliefs. They were personal opinions without references, were poorly written with little interest in the surrounding context, and were all negative.
24 January 2015: An individual added content to the Biography section about a book that was written to discredit Thieme. The existence of the book is not biographical information. Further, the book by C.G. Hunt was found to contain false information, and is not recognized as a credible biographical source.
7 February 2015: An individual in Windsor, CA edited Thieme's military background referencing content from the C.G. Hunt book (see above). The same individual added his anonymous personal opinions about Thieme's books in the Criticism section.
12 February 2015: The same individual above has persisted in adding inordinate detail about the sequence of Thieme's military promotions based on C.G. Hunt's book, in order to marginalize Thieme's wartime service. Though Hunt's book lacks credibility, apparently this individual had the time and desire to question Thieme's 0-5 date of rank, so I reversed the statements about his final rank and his wartime service at Luke Field, so as not to imply promotion to 0-5 at any particular time.
26 February 2015: The same individual re-added his personal opinions on the "Blood of Christ," asserting Thieme's position is not orthodox. Thieme's teaching here is supported by the Arndt & Gingrich Greek Lexicon, Kittel's Theological Dictionary, direct statements of scripture, and even common sense about crucifixion. This same individual also made false statements about Thieme's teaching on the origin of human life, particularly as it relates to abortion, and continues this only to inflame readers. Thieme never advocated abortion. D. Koopmans' 1976 Ph.D Dissertation - A critical investigation of the theology of Col. R. B. Thieme, Jr. - takes these subjects up in detail, and concludes Thieme's critics have come to erroneous conclusions from a superficial reading of his theology.
9 September 2017: This article was stable for a few years before someone added a section about political press reporting during an election year as this ministry related to the parents of the wife of a political candidate (that's right). Let's not be naive here, the AP's sole intention here was to discredit a political candidate. They were not concerned with accuracy. PhD critiques of R B Thieme's ministry, both positive and negative, were already referenced in the external links section. Inflammatory posting like this adds nothing of value to this article, and is an insult to the hundreds of honorable people associated with this man's ministry over five decades (including several highly decorated military veterans). Unfortunately a few individuals very active on the internet are motivated to post content like this, and as long as they dig up a reference, Wikipedia editors support them. Wikipedia is the wrong forum for conveying accurate information. If you are interested in accurate information about R B Thieme's ministry, get his publications or recorded lessons which were always free of charge.
The section "Salvation by faith alone in Christ alone", the cornerstone of R.B. Thieme's ministry, had a single reference at the end of the section. I also added it to the first paragraph and the Wikipedia editor removed it when he chose to rollback all of my edits.

I am very concerned that your best intentions to distribute knowledge of Christianity is going to end up being muddled by unbelievers and religious Christians who have no knowledge of bible doctrine. Bogus material has already been added to this site. Paster Thieme never left out the Love of God; there was no insert added to the Christian Integrity book. And Pastor Thieme always taught salvation is "faith alone in Jesus Christ alone," but where in this article was this stated? Why not allow R.B. Thieme ministries state their own doctrines and tenents? This is in fact what you are looking for. It is accurate to state that Pastor Thieme is a major voice in Christianity, however, he is by no means the only voice in Christianity. This is going to be the biggest mess! Oh my goodness! How to fix it? Perhaps notify Berachah Church of your intentions and request help directly from them. I guess I should add that I am available to do quick scans for false doctrines that are going to pop up. Paster Thieme is my minister. |
