Changes edit

1. I made a search to see if there were any reliable verifiable sources which would cite that Aviles' mother was of Venezuelan descent and could not find any, however references do indicate that his parents were Puerto Rican. Therefore, the original text was placed once more with a reference as required by policy.

2. Replaced the "External links" with "real" external links. Wikilinks are not considered external links. External links are for links to websites outside of Wikipedia which have to deal with the subject of the article and not for "internal links". Tony the Marine (talk) 17:47, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Richard Anthony Aviles edit

According to what I've read, his death occurred March 17, 1995. How is it that he was the voice of the cockroach in Joe's apartment in 1996? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vlhsuffolk (talkcontribs) 06:32, 25 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Rick Aviles worked in the film during it's post production in 1995 and lent his voice to a roach before his death in March. The finished product of the film was released in 1996. When The Dark Knight was released in (2008) Heath Ledger, who played the role of the "Joker" was dead. There are many cases of films being released where some of the actors who played character roles never got to see themselves in them because they died. Another case which comes to mind is that of actor Vic Morrow who died a year before "Twilight Zone" (the movie) was released. Tony the Marine (talk) 07:12, 25 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

African-American? edit

Aviles was not an "Afican-American", unless there is a source which states that he identified as such, categories which state that he was will be removed. Aviles was a Hispanic of mixed races (Mulatto) of Puerto Rican descent.

We are not here to judge a person's ancestery just because he or she is dark skinned. In Puerto Rico there are many people who are dark skinned who are descendant of people from India and the Middle East. That is why we in Wikipedia require that additions to bios. cite and provide reliable verifiable sources. Tony the Marine (talk) 04:05, 30 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Protectied

I have temp. protected this page because of the continous unfounded addition of the "African-American" categories that has been going on since 2009 by a unregustered user, using numerous IPS. Please provide verifiable sources which indicate that the subject claimed to have been an African-American so that we may settle the matter. Tony the Marine (talk) 22:07, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Care with presentation of death edit

The cited sources mention nothing about heroine use, so I have removed that from the article. Additionally, the Variety obituary from the time of his death cites that he died of heart failure and there is no mention of HIV or AIDS. There is a discrepancy in sources as to the cause to the cause of death, so I have carefully alluded to that fact in the article by simply stating what was said about his death in each source and when it was said.
