Orderic edit

The article previously had this passage

Orderic Vitalis records that he succeeded his half-brother in 1089 and "was relentless in his attempts to take vengeance on William of Breteuil for Amaury's fate". He was mortally wounded in an attack on Conches-en-Ouche during the war between Raoul III de Tosny and William, Count of Évreux triggered by the enmity between their wives.

which claimed to be cited. Since it is completely wrong—he was an ally of William II of Breteuil in their support of William of Evreux's private war during exactly these years, he seems to have died after it was already ended by William II of Breteuil's capture, and the war was against Raoul II and not the still unborn Raoul III—either the source wasn't actually consulted, something got very garbled in the editors' understanding of it, or the source itself was mistaken and unreliable. I've moved it here for later reinclusion when someone can check and correct its account of Richard's death. — LlywelynII 23:17, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
