Linux Planet

edit

I'm trying to verify the publisher for the website/magazine/whatever named Linux Planet. I know it's address is hosted by internet.com, but that just appears to be the hosting site. I bring it up on this talk page because someone has set up a redirect to here; yet there is no mention of it in the article and I'm not finding mention on the Quinstreet web site. If anyone has info (and source) either way, this can help both my query and this article. If Quinstreet does publish Linux Planet, it should be added to this article, if not, the redirect should be fixed. IMHO (talk) 19:41, 13 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Concur. Anyways, I did a little digging on the page history of internet.com (to go to the page, add ?redirect=no to the page address): The first redirect took to Jupitermedia Corporation; successive redirects were to Jupitermedia, WebMediaBrands, and finally Quinstreet/QuinStreet, where the comment for the redirect said that QuinStreet did indeed buy internet.com and the WebMediaBrands article confirms it. I was looking for publisher information on a Hardware Central article, which prominently displays internet.com as the main site. The masthead at the bottom does clearly state that internet.com is owned by QuinStreet Inc. -Mardus (talk) 04:06, 5 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Update: It appeared that the QuinStreet article already had the relevant information about Internet.com, I just separated this and a few other purchases for better legibility and added citation tags to some items. -Mardus (talk) 05:00, 5 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Update:Just looked at this LinuxPlanet is owned by Quinstreet and was acquired in the Internet.com deal, so for clarity sake/ and those that get redirected, added in the name LinuxPlanet to the list of acquired sites. Dambock (talk) 02:55, 30 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

The investigation section is very obviously not objective and does not provide any referenced facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.157.43.50 (talk) 14:13, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I've added some references and corrections. Captain Conundrum (talk) 09:28, 5 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
