Teen film?

edit

Pretty Persuasion is not a teen film according to wikipedia's definition of such, "This is a list of "teen films," movies centering around the lives of teenagers, with teens as the target audience." This film adresses bestiality, anal sex, group sex, drug use, and racism, earning it a well deserved "R" title. While it does center around the lives of teenagers, its target audience is much more adult oriented then "teen films" implies.

I agree, and have removed the "teen" from the discription. It is a very hard core satire. Most teens do not get the very strong David Mamet theme that runs through. Even the diaglogue is a satire of Mamet.68.88.13.169 21:19, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Edited "somewhat became massively popular" to read "brief exposure". Oxymorons make me cry. GodHead 23:47, 29 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Postmodern?

edit

After watching this film, i ask myself: Is this what is often called post-modern? The interplay of truth-possibilities, the twisting of the story, the artificiality of life? -- ExpImptalkcon 01:47, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

comedy

edit

the film is not a comedy, I'm sure. it starts like one, but then the film makes a 180° turning in the very end. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 89.52.138.34 (talk) 10:40, 22 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

Agreed, black comedy and satire probably need reliable sources. It is obviously social commentary with some dark humour and exaggerates various characters. We gotta go fetch dem critics views. Alastair Haines (talk) 06:18, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:JanePrettyPersuasion.jpg

edit

Image:JanePrettyPersuasion.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:39, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
