Updates Not shown

edit

I have notice more features edited / added that are not listed should I add them and where? 1tracfone (talk) 03:13, 2 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Feel free to add them under the appropriate categories (i.e. PSN changes in firmware updates should be under the Network category for the specific update).

written from scratch or based on existing OS

edit

Forgive my asking, but the operating system written from scratch or is it based on some existing operating system? E.g. PlayStation 4 system software is based on FreeBSD 9.0 User:ScotXWt@lk 18:04, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sony have been using their own custom version of free/netBSD for as long as "i think" the PS2, it's basically a highly optimized version they maintain for each specific set of hardware, the Vita like the PS4 is an evolution of the work they've done in the past for the PS2/PS3 and many other Sony devices. (it is like Apple's OS X isn't 100% written from scratch but parts of it are) Markthemac (talk) 19:16, 31 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Current and future releases confusion

edit

Is there any particular reason 'PSVITA system software' and the 'PlayStation 4 system software' pages keep listing future update versions as if it was current?

The system software wiki pages for other consoles doesn't suffer from this confusion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.144.144.172 (talk) 02:48, 28 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Every other version history page has conquered the evil that want to remove the version history, what makes this page so special that you can continue your power trip? 72.42.145.145 (talk) 09:07, 24 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

You didn't answer why other pages get to be free from your tyranny. What makes this one so special? 24.237.158.22 (talk) 18:34, 24 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
