Peter was never known as Pistol Pete in school, a newsaper used it as a headline before his first cap - that's what he Peter told me today. He said he'd more liely be called Strings and other unmentionable names

Have you people actually got lives?

Is this the home page of the Peter Stringer fan club?

"This reflects his fitness, ability and work ethic as an international scrum half. His trademark as a scrum half is an amazing ability to take down larger players, especially with one handed "tap tackles"

His 'AMAZING' ability in my mind is to consistently stamp on other players when they are on the ground and not get cited for it. However that is neither here nor there as far as Wikipedia is concerned. Could the original poster be a tad more objective and also explain why Stringers try against Wales was 'definitive'Adam777 23:31, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Adam777 I do believe that today, the 20th of May 2006, Peter Stringer's AMAZING ability should be recognised . Folowing his brillant try, and all round performance, for Munster in the Heineken Cup final - Which they won. As for the stamping I think I will adopt the Neil Back approach whatever you can get away with, is legal. And what scrum-halfs don't rake players, an entirely legal approach to removing a player on the ground from the ball. i suspect you might say that Matt Dawson never did anything untoward on a rugby pitch. Please I think it is you who needs a small dose of objectivity. USER : themick171 23:05, 20 May 2006.

Hello Mick,

Congratulations on the HEC win and completly missing the point of my original entry. Wikipedia is an encyclopeida NOT a platform for biased rose tinted entries as anyone with an ounce of objecticity will see in the current entry. If you want to see objective and well written pieces on some current rugby personalities you may want to look up the entries on Martin Johnson, Gavin Henson, Laurance Dalagio just to name three quite controversial players. If you want to write for a fan club this isnt the place to do it bejesus. Adam777

The little man has grown into a giant edit

This article is now seriously NPOV. Unless anyone has an objection I would like to research and re-write it centering on Stringers early life, development to international level and his career for both Munster and Ireland. That way the article would be along similar lines to those of other international players and wouldnt be the partisan mush it currently is. This is an encyclopedia after all. Adam777 - I agree with you, despite being from Munster, and being a massive fan (still teary after winning the HEC and all!) Yes indeed, Peter Stringer is a fantastic player, but this is NOT a fan club (there's Munster fans for that! While a re-write is needed, I don't agree that the Martin Johnson article is unbiased - for example there's a paragraph there about the "President walking on the grass issue" which is ridiculously wrong (even objectively) and the article claims he's the "greatest lock in the world" - hardly something that can be PROVEN now is it? Anyway, to re-state my point, let's get this article (about Strings) re-written properly. --Broddo 20:21, 22 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Whoops...you are not wrong about the Johnson article. I havent read it in a while, that should be raised on its talk page. I've been doing some research on Stringer and there is very little information on him out there but somebody must have some in depth data with which to build the man a n entry worth being on Wikipedia. Well, I tried to remove the most egregious and glaring POV. Let me know if I missed something, or messed something up, or just fix it yourself! Thanks. --LV (Dark Mark) 01:19, 7 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

THanks, I had forgotten about getting to this Adam777 02:42, 7 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Why is that try 'definitive' edit

Why was Stringers try against Wales in 06 definitive? It was a try...definitive is defined as 'serving to define, fix, or specify definitely'....I dont think any try could 'define' all other tries. Can whomever added that line amend it or I will at some point in the future. Adam777 20:10, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bench Press edit

No mention of 2009 6 Nations Team edit

Stringer definitely competed in the 2009 RBS 6 Nations - which is particularly important in Irish Rubgy due to it being the first championship win in 24 years and second ever grand slam. He fed Ronan O'Gara the ball for the last minute drop-kick in the final match against Wales which decided both the match and the championship. 86.43.86.52 (talk) 15:45, 2 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
