Pauline Black's mother edit

  1. There is nothing in any of the references about Pauline Black's mother being Anglo-Jamaican.
  2. The Guardian article state's that her mother emigrated to Australia as a '£10 pom' in the mid-1960s. Mixed-race people were excluded from this scheme under the White Australia Policy. Unknown Unknowns (talk) 11:03, 15 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Please see [1] as used to reference her adoption. --Egghead06 (talk) 11:09, 15 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sorry - I missed that. Unknown Unknowns (talk) 11:12, 15 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I found it strange that Black didn't mention her Jamaican heritage in the JC interview so I did a Google search for "Pauline Black"+"Anglo-Jamaican". It returned 9 pages, mainly derived from the Wikipedia and Book Bag articles.

I then did a Google search for "Pauline Black"+"Anglo-Jewish" and found 260 pages, including newspaper reports and a BBC radio programme. It seems there was a mistake in the Book Bag article. Unknown Unknowns (talk) 17:35, 15 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

It seems there was a mistake? Nothing to say this is not a reliable source.--Egghead06 (talk) 17:51, 15 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Apart from the usual concerns about the lack of editorial control over amateur websites Bookbag actually state this on theirs [2]:

The books we send ARE review copies. They're usually of the same quality as a book you would buy in a shop, but quite often you may receive an uncorrected proof copy, which you can't resell.

Bookbag didn't actually review the published edition of Pauline Black's book. Unknown Unknowns (talk) 11:18, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
You are correct [3]. Will avoid Bookbag in future!!--Egghead06 (talk) 16:03, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Multiple additions 4 September 2011 edit

Many of these seem to be copyright violations - not least from here[4].--Egghead06 (talk) 16:59, 4 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Actually, that is not true. Museumstuff.com is one of the several mirror sites that copy text from Wikipedia. The site says at the bottom of the page: "Some of the content on this page has been obtained from the The Selecter page on Wikipedia and used under the CC-BY-SA." and therefore, it is safe for me to remove the copyvio tag. As you've reverted it now the point is moot but it is strange that seconds after the changes are made on Wiki I should find the same text on Museumstuff.com. Either this article has copied from Museumstuff or that site must have some very timely editors who managed to include the Wiki changes so quickly!--Egghead06 (talk) 17:09, 5 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

'Musical legacy' section edit

What exactly does this section, containing only the word 'Timeless' actually mean? There's no link there, no context. I have removed it twice. If there is some point to it please discuss it so that we can make sense of it. Thanks.--Michig (talk) 19:39, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
