long-distance trains

"Pasila station is one of two stations in Helsinki to serve long-distance traffic, the other being the central station." But the article Tikkurila_railway_station says "The station is considered the main railway station of Vantaa, and all trains, both long-distance and Helsinki commuter rail, call at Tikkurila." So, is it in fact all three of them, Helsinki central, Pasila and Tikkurila, where all long-distance trains stop? Macholl (talk) 22:45, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

No, there are only two stations where all the long-distance trains to Helsinki stop. Pasila is where the main line ("päärata") and the western coastal line ("rantarata") diverge (see the route map in the article). Perhaps all the main-line services stop at Tikkurila, but none of the coastal-line services do. Teemu Leisti (talk) 18:21, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

central / central-northern

I don't think it is necessarily appropriate to call Pasila "northern Helsinki" while it is technically in the middle of the city, and a part of the "central major district". On the other hand, the Helsinki downtown proper is indeed located by sea some kilometres to the south of Pasila.

In the article "Pasila", it is said to be "a central-northern district", somewhat unclearly but still better than "northern". What should we put here instead of "northern"? I think it is clearly misguiding. Perhaps just leave the direction out?

Good ideas? If not, maybe I'll get back some day and just delete the word.
