Fact of death supported by [1] (emphasis added by Jerzy):

A research done by late Dr P Gururaja Bhat suggests that the use of the term ‘Mangala’ in the place of ‘Kote’ (fort) in Marathhuru Shasanas in the 7th century had in it a hidden agenda of serving larger interests of politics and military of the times.
