One Old Cat was still being played in the 1950's in my back yard in Quincy, Illinois. Don't know that it was played in any other back yards in Quincy... my father grew up in Brooklyn in the 1920's. BobShair (talk) 05:19, 6 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yep, me too, in Massachusetts, and under that name too. My father grew up well away from Brooklyn tho. I don't know where I learned it... it's almost something you would make up spontaneously, although how we knew that name I don't know. Since the historian Seymour described old cat as being played in Brooklyn in the 1920's, and since our experiences (inadmissable but still probably true) inform this, and since the article near the end says modern coaches use one old cat doe practice, I removed the statement that it only existed in the 19th century. --Herostratus (talk) 00:55, 30 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
