No Immaculate conception edit

The fact that our Most Holy Lady did not commit any sin does not mean that the papal doctrine of the "Immaculate Conception" is true or acceptable.

This doctrine is based on the anthropology of Augustine of Hippo which is not accepted by the Greek Fathers nor by Saints and teachers of the Western Church like Saint John Cassian or Saint Vincentius of Lerinum.

Even several medieval authors (e.g. Bernhard of Clairvaux) who accepted the opinions of Augustine did not believe that the Mother of God had been conceived without sin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.76.24.45 (talk) 20:47, 27 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
