  • There's also a nice section on her in Now. And of course removing IMDb as a reference -- and adding it instead as an internal link. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 12:20, 5 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Comment edit

  • I don't know if I can comment here as I am not involved in AFC, but I came across this new editor yesterday and have been trying to help her on another matter. I would disagree with Chris that the article "reads promotionally." I think this new editor has done an admirable job of writing neutrally. (Or perhaps the article has been improved since the assessment.) There's maybe a phrase or two in Pinnguaq Productions that could be tweaked, but that's it. For what it's worth, I am involved in AfC, Page Curation, and AfD, mostly in the visual arts, and I would be happy to support this article if it did ever come up at AfD. I'm not going to accept it now though, because it hasn't been resubmitted, and resubmitting without making any changes is discouraged. If anything can be done to better establish the subject's notability please do so. Make sure to consider the notability criteria at WP:ARTIST. The fact this this is an Inuit artist who works with VR for example, relates to criterion 2. More than anything I like to see significant critical attention. Good luck. Yes I would support it at Afd, too. Taken as a whole, with her work chosen for TIFF's top ten and the press coverage she's received, I think she's notable, as well. I respect the vital work that AFC editors do. You have policies to apply. But I'm ready to help the article creator. I think if we're serious about countering systemic bias, as I am, here's a good case: We've got an emerging Inuit women filmmaker whose work is mainly in shorter works, so she's not going to get the 'major film reviews' requested by one reviewer.Shawn in Montreal (talk) 15:51, 5 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
