I'm far from an expert on molecular genetics, but I kinda understand the workings of these mRNA messenger molecules. I do also understand how it triggers the cell to make the proteins the mRNA encodes for. But I do not understand how the foreign mRNA is treated after a while. Will it decompose after a few days? Will it remain forever in the cell after it entered, until the cell dies? Will it replace the natural occuring RNA in the cell eventually? Will it be dismantled by the immunesystem after a while? What happens to it, after use?
I really want that to be found on this wiki page, as I have had multiple discussions about this type of vaccine already and found myself not able to explain in truth what happens with it after the mRNA is used for its protein encoded purpose. Should I say that these foreign mRNA molecules will remain in the cells or will they leave the system? Grifo (talk) 08:19, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
