What makes her notable for a stand alone article? edit

I think that she has become borderline notable for being the photographer of a more or less iconic photographs. Unlike Nick Ut she has not received the Pulitzer Prize. However her words about the photos have made newspapers, including in newspapers in various countries in Western Europe. I have a feeling that the mass of republishing of her words - by newspapers - sets her apart from other press photographers with "hits" of a similar scale. Her "hits" consist of one series of pictures taken of the Dead boy on Turkish beach. No insensitivity intended. Or is this about an "artist (or person from a creative profession)" with many resourceful friends who speak different languages - and therefore can have articles created in many languages, without notability having been established? I am not sure yet if I can support the idea that someone should recommend this article for a deletion nomination. (One argument against the photo being iconic is that there has not yet been written a book about the photo - however I would not be surprised if that no longer holds true in a few weeks time.) Until such a book is published, I can not see any notability. 89.8.14.237 (talk) 06:12, 14 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
^Pretty obvious block evasion. Flat Out (talk) 06:27, 14 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • WP:BLP1E? The article is entirely about the photographer's role in creating the photo, which can be adequately covered in the existing article: Death of Alan Kurdi. czar 00:22, 29 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
You seem to be unfamiliar with how Wikipedia presents art. Artists of important works have at least two pages on Wikipedia: one for their most important work, and one for themselves. Your comment seems to imply that you consider her work as unimportant from an artistic standpoint. That can no longer be said when there is so much derivative work available to prove it. Heed your own advice. czar 10:22, 4 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry but I believe I do and try to stay consistent in the way I work. If you claim I do not, then please spell it out for me. artwork could be split off from the event article, as it has taken on a life of its own. The artist meets the notability criteria for creative professionals. The event page may possibly be stripped of the artwork and artist, as the event itself became notable as a starting point for other related events, which by then had other reasons than the initial artwork itself. When art becomes the focus of politics, it doesn't disqualify it as art - it is powerful art. Jane (talk) 08:33, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • I see no notability in a single photograph. Photographer should be merged into the article on the notable photo.E.M.Gregory (talk) 19:54, 19 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
