Native Name in Infobox

For what reason was the native name changed from 주식회사 넥슨 to ネクソン in the infobox? Native name is meant to represent a phonic translation of a company's name based on the company's original native language, which is Korean (as it was founded in Korea by, well, Koreans) - the fact that it is now headquartered in Japan should have no impact on its native name. Ex, even the article on Lotte has both Korean and Japanese names under "Native name" as it is a Korean-Japanese company founded in Japan. In addition, the current native name is inconsistent with the native name found in the lead, which is written in Hangul. 129.210.115.12 (talk) 04:36, 6 June 2018 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Nexoneu.gif

Image:Nexoneu.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

My edit

As I was removing a trollish section of the page I found the news section. Wikipedia is not a news site so I removed it completely. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ichikatsu (talkcontribs) 02:50, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Very biased comment regarding Nexon America

Maple Story is no way affiliated with Osama

Nexon asia removal

I am removing the Nexon asia section. Nexon currently does not hold a division called nexon asia. Instead, they are split into different branches such as Nexon Korean and Nexon Japan. Therefore, I am removing the Nexon Asia section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.27.49.57 (talk) 02:29, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

"singapore" vandalism

Someone has vandalized the page, and has pasted the word "Singapore" in random areas. I will fix this issue shortly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.27.49.57 (talk) 02:31, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

someone is keep on adding useless singapore information such as "some guy from singapore first played mapleglobal". As if that is wikipedic? Someone please lock this article. This vandalism is getting annoying. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.27.61.166 (talk) 20:27, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Criticism section

I am planning to add a criticism section with complaints on Nexon America's behavior: specifically, its customer service, or lack thereof. Any ideas / suggestions / sources I might be able to use? Thank you. HaItsNotOver (talk) 17:54, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

You can't criticize the company now, sine some of the games are still in beta stages. --Ramu50 (talk) 22:38, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

@Ramu50 : How the bloody hell do you figure that? Just because some of their products are in beta by no reasonable standard means you can't criticize their non-beta games or their shoddy customer service in general. Grandmartin11 (talk) 03:48, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

The criticism section seems very biased and dogmatics. No game reviews have ever comment on the criticism of Nexon Corporation before. Also the letter F and 9000 complaints were not cited. Most product of the Nexon America games are not even full operational, some are still in betas. You guys should know that beta stages is sometimes also use for policy testing, due to certain inevitable ethics concern. This in turn involve a great need of measuring the economic situation deviation of Cross Sea Conglomerate and engineering structuring (of the way how the kernel program) as this can turn the entire strategy of Management Information System (or eCommerce to put it simply) around. This will also very well affect things like server crash rate, transaction processing, MIS CIO management...etc.

A lot of other Korean Cross Sea Congolmerate haven't been successful such as MCGame (MapleStory) which has one of the worst security protection in Asian countries, you can't judge a Cross Sea Conglomerate by simply using information from one source only. One of the reason is that countries have different Charter of Rights law, in USA WarRock (hosted by K2Network) is the only game in America that use Users' contributions such as map design into practice, while Korean policy may not allow such flexibility of freedom of speech. As such being said, the expectation of the users may very well vary drastically and the quality of how the complaints is being solved is certainly not for the Better Buisness Bureau to judge, they are simply organizations similar to ESRB ratings.

--Ramu50 (talk) 22:01, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Better Business Bureau gave Nexon a rating of D. That's a bad rating. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.239.154.180 (talk) 17:38, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

The justification for the removal of the criticism section made by Ramu50 seems a bit shaky. Some of the wording in the removal reasoning is a bit obtuse so I apologize if I simply misunderstood it, but just because Nexon policies and/or games may have (or may have had) transitional problems from Korea to the US does not mean that they should be exempted from proper criticism. I say proper because there were indeed some problems with the criticism section. The BBB's previous rating of F on Nexon isn't citable since it only displays the latest rating which is currently a C- ; the previous rating isn't anywhere to be seen on the site (link: http://www.la.bbb.org/Business-Report/Nexon-America-Inc-100061928). The latter criticism only cites two specific occurences of delays in game updates, and more proof would be needed in order to show that Nexon has a tendency to have game update delays. That doesn't mean that there shouldn't be a criticism section for Nexon though. This article, for example, brings up some legitimate problems the users have with the company's security on their games: http://consumerist.com/2010/03/nexon-isnt-the-worst-company-in-america-but-that-doesnt-make-it-good.html . However, I want to get some general consensus about having a criticism section for Nexon before I take any action to bring it back. Sam388 (talk) 01:04, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

LMAO wow, I came to the talk page only to say "really? not a single mention of their legendary bad support?" and I find this section here. But to be fair I guess it is going to be very very difficult for anyone to make mention of it without sounding very biased lol. 97.91.0.236 (talk) 23:38, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

ijji removed from See Also

ijji is similar to nexon, for hosting games, but they have no affiliation so i removed the link.

Homonymous company

It's called, too, Nexon Corporation. What to do? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.32.132.89 (talk) 02:17, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

It is called Nexon Corporation in Korea, the american branch is called Nexon America Incorporated.--96.250.9.175 (talk) 09:04, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Nexon Cash

I cant speak to other franchises of Nexon if they have Nexon Cash but saying its not available in Mexico is kind of stupid because its also not available in man countries in which Nexon Americas Games are played (Australia, Israel, Peru, New Zealand, the list goes on and on) so we need to find a better way to state it in an accurate way seeing as leaving out countries is nonencylopedic and listing all of them would take forever -71.131.3.158 (talk) 18:26, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Nexon Game Cards "Coming Soon" at some locations

The information on the official Nexon Game Card page is not up-to-date as cards are available at several of the stories listed as "Coming Soon". November 14, 2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mserver (talkcontribs) 14:13, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

"Japan-based Nexon"

Nexon is not headquartered in Japan, at least not yet. The parent company of the Nexon is located in Japan since Japan is where Nexon's IPO will be centered.

Mserver (talk) 01:35, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Nexon China

There is no such thing as Nexon China, as a guy who has been following both Nexon America, Korea news, there has been no word or any word in fact about a Nexon China. Sure the games might be serviced there but there is no Nexon China, give me a website saying its Nexon China to prove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maplefreak26 (talkcontribs) 14:12, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

Shayia Online

How to add info regarding expiring cash?

My NX cash expired in my account. How do I go about adding this info? I tried adding it but was reverted due to "Unreliable sourced info". I'm having a hard time even getting the terms and agreements to show that they expire. I don't believe anywhere during the purchasing steps it tells you that it expires. The approximate time it takes is about 1 year from last transaction as seen by this screenshot of my own account:

Can't be helped. Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources. A source might just not exist. From that screenshot and your account, it is classified as speculation or Original Research. If the reason you want that information up there is to warn others, do so at their fansites. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 23:19, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

NexonNEXON Co., Ltd. – According to their website, financial filings, Tokyo Stock Exchange and all company press releases their official name is NEXON Co., Ltd. Also, the NEXON is in all caps. Being that NEXON Co., Ltd. has many subsidiaries under the Nexon name, this name change will not only be correct but serve to disambiguate according to WP:D. OnceaMetro (talk) 16:02, 24 December 2014 (UTC)

  • Oppose. Per MOS:TRADE, we follow normal English rules for capitalization of proper names, not the company's preferred styling, even if the legal name has emphatic capitals. 209.211.131.181 (talk) 18:04, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
  • Oppose as the current title seems to suit our usual guidelines on company names and trademarks. Dicklyon (talk) 04:55, 25 December 2014 (UTC)

NexonNexon Co., Ltd. – The officially company name according to all press, filings and the Tokyo Stock Exchange is Nexon Co., Ltd. The previous request got lost on the CAPS, no CAPS are being requested now.--OnceaMetro (talk) 21:44, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

  • Oppose as per WP:NCCORP we don't include things like inc or co unless necessary for disambiguation purposes. Since there is no other article titled Nexon neither Co., or Ltd is necessary. WP:OFFICIALNAMES is also relevant.--67.68.161.176 (talk) 00:21, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

  • Comment why didn't you participate in the last move request, which you yourself started, to present the nocaps version as an option? -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 09:21, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Oppose WP:OFFICIALNAME we do not use official names just because they are official. However, Nexon Co. might be viable, if we turn "Nexon" into a disambiguation page. -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 09:21, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Oppose, but like the above IP editor I could be convinced to support Nexon Co. as an alternative, with Nexon being a disambiguation page. Again, we don't use official names or even official branding; we use the most common name by which the company is referred to by others, formatted in accordance with our style guidelines. 209.211.131.181 (talk) 14:42, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Oppose, "Nexon" is the common name, there is no reason to add official suffixes. JIP | Talk 17:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Oppose - Do we need commas, full stops and caps ? ... No, Per COMMONNAME it should stay as it is. –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 05:42, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
