Talk:National parks and nature reserves of Israel

Latest comment: 2 years ago by Onceinawhile in topic NonNPOV and misleading

First line edit

Its batter to say "The National Parks of Israel" instead of "In Israel, the national parks", because some of them are not in Israel.--Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 13:42, 14 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Disclaimer edit

I added the disclaimer to the Israeli occupied territories after the lists, it was in the previous articles and was lost when they were moved together. --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 23:13, 2 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Removal of important info edit

Gilabrand, the article currently lists several locations in the occupied territories, so what is the problem with having the sentence "Some of them are located in the Israeli occupied Golan Heights and the West Bank." in the lead of the article? --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 14:20, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Districts edit

Caesarea National Park is in the Haifa district, not the Northern District indicated in this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jreitsema (talkcontribs) 23:06, 29 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

NonNPOV and misleading edit

I tagged the article because the list refers to areas that are not in Israel but are located in Palestine or in the Golan and because the article implies that the procedures and legal regime for administering and operating these areas are the same regardless of location, which is not the case. The simplest solution may be to spin out separate articles for those areas not in Israel. Otherwise the title will need to be changed and the material reworked to show the separated areas and their respective regimes. Selfstudier (talk) 17:58, 27 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

I've removed Template:POV title, which is currently at WP:TfD. If you think the title should be changed, WP:RM is the correct venue. If you think the content should be changed because of the title, focus on the content. If you think further discussion is necessary, WP:NPOVN might be a good place to start. This article remains problematic, the title does not reflect the content. Otoh, it is awkward to rename (National parks and nature reserves of Israel and the occupied Israeli territories is a mouthful). I conclude that it should be split, the material relating to sites in the occupied territories being split out into a separate article. If no-one is going to comment and no-one has for a year now, then I will go ahead and do that.Selfstudier (talk) 11:27, 27 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yes, (a) Israeli national parks for those in Israelo proper (b) Israeli-run parks in the Occupied territories.Nishidani (talk) 12:43, 27 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
All these parks are managed by the same organisation. The article makes it clear which ones are in the occupied territories or the Golan heights. I don't see how a split would help. Alaexis¿question? 11:21, 29 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
The way the parks are managed is not the same (see Wadi Qana#Nature reserve for an explanation of how it works in the WB). The alternative to splitting is an alternative name to reflect the fact that they are not all in Israel. I am happy either way. Selfstudier (talk) 11:29, 29 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Israel Nature and Parks Authority national parks and nature reserves? National_parks_and_nature_reserves_of_Israel and West Bank? Alaexis¿question? 11:52, 29 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
First one is same problem as existing one and second ignores Golan.11:56, 29 December 2021 (UTC) Selfstudier (talk) 11:56, 29 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
No, the first one just says that these are the parks managed by INPA. Regarding Golan, opinions on its status differ. Alaexis¿question? 12:08, 29 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I think I prefer a split then.Selfstudier (talk) 12:11, 29 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

The same treatment should be afforded to Template:National parks of Israel. Onceinawhile (talk) 00:33, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
