Nao
editI noticed that the pronunciation was changed from "now" to "na-oh". I reverted it back to "now" because this is how I have observed it pronounced by Aldebaran staff (I explicitly asked for clarification at the AAAI conference), how it is used by teams throughout the RoboCup Standard Platform League, how the Nao refers to itself on boot-up and how it is pronounced in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSKRgasUEko

Nao (robot) → NAO (robot) — This page should be moved to NAO (robot) as NAO is the official spelling used by its maker, Aldebaran Robotics in all communications. Birdy904 (talk) 14:11, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose. It does not appear to be an acronym. --DAJF (talk) 16:12, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose ditto. Check WP:MOSTM and/or WP:MOSCAPS. 86.6.193.43 (talk) 21:59, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose The official spelling is a stylistic affectation, not a spelling. Wikipedia uses its own style, not those used by companies to draw attention to their products. Unless this is an acronym, and there is no suggestion it is, it should remain at Nao. Skinsmoke (talk) 13:21, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose No evidence of anachronism, merely a trademark. Press releases from 2009 and earlier as well as various pages of the site also use "Nao" frequently.Chaosdruid (talk) 13:42, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

脑 / 腦
editIs it just coincidence that nao means 'brain' or 'mind' in Chinese? (With the third tone, if this character: 脑 / 腦 is meant.) Adam78 (talk) 20:29, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
