St. Kilda Synagouge edit

The building illustrated on this Wikipedia site was not designed by Barnet! The illustration shows the present synagogue in Charwood Crescent. However, Barnet was responsible for alterations to an earlier synagouge in Charnwood Grove. After the new synagouge had been built, the earlier building was renamed Harrison Hall and retained for congregational use. That building no longer exists and there's now a block of flats on the site. My main reference for these comments is: Rabbi Jacob Danglow. The Uncrowned monarch of Australian Jews., John S. Levi, 1995, Melbourne University Press, Melbourne.

The St. Kilda photo has now been removed from this site.Albert Isaacs (talk) 23:04, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

As a coda to the above, I should add that the present St. Kilda synagogue was designed by Joseph Plottel. Albert Isaacs (talk) 22:12, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Place of Birth edit

This is probably quite a stupid thing to say, but, seeing as when he was born Australia didn't exist a country, wouldn't it be more correct of say he was born in Victoria, rather than Australia? Just a thought, please correct me if I'm wrong. --Blandgash (talk) 06:59, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
