Miranda Barbour

edit

Because User:NorthBySouthBaranof deleted what I wrote for no reason, I'm pasting what s/he deleted below:

Miranda Kamille Dean lived in North Pole, Alaska, a suburb of Fairbanks. Miranda was sent to live with relatives in North Carolina when she got pregnant as a teenager and was using illegal drugs.[1] The biological father of Miranda's child is deceased.[2] Miranda met Elytte Barbour in North Carolina.

On Miranda's facebook page, she lists herself as having been a student at Colony High School and Valley Pathways School, both in Palmer, Alaska.[3]

Miranda has also lived in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley.[4] She left Alaska in 2011.[5]

Miranda reportedly lived in Panama City Beach, Florida, and Knightdale and Cary, North Carolina.[6]

Miranda married Elyette Barbour on Oct. 22, 2013 when they were residing in Dunn, North Carolina.[7][8]

Miranda's father's statement

edit

Miranda's father, Sonny Dean of Texas, said in an interview with The Daily Item (Sunbury) that Miranda is a liar, a manipulative person, a heroin addict and that she is not to be believed.

Media attention due to Miranda's claims of serial killing

edit

The Miranda and Elytte Barbour wikipedia article currently says "Miranda and Elytte Barbour are a married couple from Pennsylvania who gained notoriety after being arrested and charged with the murder of Troy LaFerrara."
That isn't accurate. The Barbours received major media attention after Miranda claimed to be a Satanic serial killer. (There is no proof that she is a serial killer and the D.A. doesn't find her claims to be credible)63.247.160.139 (talk) 08:39, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I added the notability tag as the murder of Troy LaFerrara doesn't meet the criteria for a Wikipedia article. People are murdered every day in America. They don't all get WIkipedia articles. -12.30.109.2 (talk) 07:12, 19 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the tag, because I think it meets the general notability guideline (WP:GNG), of having received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. There are dozens, if not hundreds of news articles about it, not just from the local Pennsylvania news media but worldwide, because of Miranda's claim that she was a serial killer. The article cites the BBC, Huffington Post, UK newspapers, Anchorage Daily News and Reuters. 86.158.61.209 (talk) 13:05, 21 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
