This entry really needs better sourcing, not just what people "believe" or "speculate." "Some police are concerned?" Says who? Seance?

OK, what's wrong with the following: Jane Thurgood-Dove had revealed to at least two friends that a well-respected, serving policeman was deeply in love and obsessed with Jane and, indeed, had been diagnosed with depression since her murder. So, she revealed, after her death that a suspect "had been diagnosed with depression since her murder". How? Via a seance? A dream? Current News update

The case remains under active investigation after a twisting decade-long probe into who shot the Niddrie mother dead in front of her three young children.

Homicide squad detectives still hold out hope a $1 million reward can bring some justice to Ms Thurgood-Dove's family.

Two suspects have never been caught -- the getaway driver and another who police suspect funded and organised the Muriel St murder on November 7, 1997. Investigators believe the triggerman and the man who stole the car have been dead for years.

The suspected shooter, Steven John Mordy, died in 2000 from a heart ailment which was compounded by heavy amphetamine use.

The former outlaw motorcycle gang member had beaten a murder charge in NSW in 1996, the year before Ms Thurgood-Dove was killed.

Ballarat man Jamie Reynolds, who police believe stole the VN Commodore getaway car, perished in a boating accident off Ocean Grove on the Bellarine Peninsula as police closed in on him.

Investigators believe Mordy shot the wrong woman and that the intended victim was the wife of a criminal who lived further along Muriel St.

One attempt had already been made on the life of the criminal and he was known to be fearful of a repeat orchestrated by his enemy, a crooked former solicitor.
